The silver lining around the dark clouds which are the potential and repeated avoidance of Phillip's responsibilities are, and everyone should remember: Phil is literally unemployable. He has no skills, not even at the video games which have been his career for over a decade. A simple cursory Google search by any potential future employer would make anyone instantly take a hard pass on him. He has literally spent his entire adult life broadcasting to the world the worst possible qualities that an employee can possess. Regardless of what happens with the bankruptcy, the clock is ticking, and some day he will be out of options.

Another thing that I was thinking about earlier: do you think Phil has ever given a dime of his wealth to his parents? Can you imagine raising such a spoiled little shit that he calls you an idiot in front of thousands of people for not buying him a toy, then becomes successful and shares exactly nothing with you but still expects exorbitant monetary birthday gifts at the age of 35+ along with the complete financing of his wedding? Meanwhile, you get to read about him buying thousands of dollars of toys for himself, spending upwards the cost of a Mercedes Benz on a mobile wrestling game, and on top of all this, you can't even gloat about your successful son to your friends because he has broadcast his disgusting personality all over the internet for his entire adult life.

im on page 268 of this ever growing thread and i havent seen anyone ask yet (might have overlooked it since posts are blending together at this point) but is it possible philbert is using the money to pay off kats debts? He did say that she has her own debt/bills from before she moved in so what if hes paying her debt to set them up to ride things out on her credit until his is fixed? im almost positive it would cost tons less to pay her stuff off instead of working to actually fix his own debts. he had this idea to let payments fall off since april and even though he has received large payments he is still somehow broke with no items to show for that missing money so it could be possible.

I think Phil was either lying/greatly exaggerating Kat's debt. He only brought it up in the beginning when people were asking if Kat was going to help with his finances. He also used it as a defense when he was talking about stuff that Kat purchased, with people rightly pointing out how it didn't make sense Phil was crying bankruptcy one second and then talking about Kat playing new games on a newly purchased Ps4. It's just like how when Phil wants to brag about a new purchase after complaining about not having money to afford anything, he insists that it was from a fan or a family member.

All that being said, the idea of Kat being in debt isn't exactly unbelievable, and at the very least, I think we can safely say that DSP was covering her moving expenses and probably does the bulk of/entirety of their purchasing. I could see Kat maybe having some credit card debt, but probably nothing overly substantial. It doesn't seem like she's a big spender. Her biggest expense pre-Phil was probably rent. Other than that, it sounds like her budget just goes into buying the odd gaming thing. Even then, I bet her gaming budget is less than Phil's. It doesn't sound like she plays too many new releases. He would probably pay off her debt just as a way to flex, but if that were the case, it probably happened in the first year she moved in and Phil probably would have recouped the financial hit within a month or two, unless Kat has some serious skeletons in her closest we haven't discovered.

I completely agree. I think from the crumbs we do have about her life before Phil it's likely that Kat is a relatively vulnerable person who leapt on what would have looked to her like a level of stability and security she's never had previously, and would be very difficult to leave given she moved away from support of family and friends. I don't think it's fair to accuse someone who works at a supermarket of golddigging. She's hardly living the high life. Its really hard to say what she deserves since for all intents and purposes the real Khet has vanished years? ago and the khet we know exists only as another character in the Tales of DSP, like girls in high school who lusted after his shredded bod or the Curse CEO who got down on his knees and personally begged phil for forgiveness for being forced to cut him loose due to the attacks of trolls.

If the 'real' Khet is in her room now reading this thread on her tiny monitor and crying about how mean we are its her own fault for being stupid and not realizing this or not coming to correct the record. Groceries stores are one spot of the economy going like gangbusters. Kroger here is hiring like crazy and putting people to work immediately, which is unusual because their stores are unionized. Fred Meyer's is a hypermarket and she works in the clothing department, the only way her hours are going up is if she gets transferred to potato queen the grocery section. We also know from Phil's off hand comments that she was working just Fridays + weekends going back to 2019 while the bankruptcy filing confirms she was unemployed in all of 2018 and does not work a full shift on the days she is there (gross income of $1,349.62 / $15 minimum wage ~= 90 hours/month).

Agreed. You could just as easily argue "unfit to work full time" (she's on some kind of heavy duty meds) and "Phil doesn't want her getting too independent" (I think he thinks this is the mistake he made with Panda). We also know he spent like crazy to flex on her, so he might recognize that admitting he needs her second income could cause serious marital problems.

Like somebody in the main thread pointed out, we have a very incomplete picture of Khet's life and behavior because all we've gotten since Halloween 2018 are the second-hand accounts of a known serial liar.
