True Pet people have a multitude of names for their pets but they usually all somewhat sound the same. Pet mangler Chantal gives her pets totally nonsensical names (as she does people) that sound nothing like their true names and totally confuse the shit outta the pets.
I was wondering about that, too. It’s possible she’s just hiding in the new place and Sam is more into exploring (plus she takes way more pics/annoying growling voice videos of Sam). But I would wager BBJ is still at “the apartment”, under the guise of bringing the less anxious cat first to adjust (although they would probably be less scared if they weren’t separated), but of course really as an excuse to have another unannounced sleepover at a Bibi’s, and I’m sure he knows it, too.
I’m almost positive he had been living with a roommate, not his mom, before this. Not for very long, but as long as he’s been in her videos in Ottawa. I think his mom lives in Cornwall like Chantal’s family - he’s mentioned getting a ride with Chantal to visit his mom “before she gets her uterus yanked out” or something equally edgy.
Are you saying that living with Chantal is preferable to living with his mother? I’m going to have to disagree, both in terms of his sanity and chances of getting a girlfriend. Sure, most adult women are going to be turned off by a guy in his thirties still living with mom, but it’s nothing compared to “Let’s go to my place, but first I should let you know about my roommate...” He could be Brad Pitt and most women would run out of that house without looking back after an hour or two.
Chantal gives everyone nicknames, BiBi June, Peetz, Bibi, are all nicknames that Chantal has given them.
The only reason any of the cats pay Chantal attention is because of the excessive treats that she feeds them.
It's not like Chantal is training the cats anyway. BBJ probably didn't learn her first name.
The only people she has in her life are her mom, Peetz and Bibi. I think that says enough.

Does... does she think of herself as an affable but ultimately endearing, heroic version of Captain Hook, with her mother bungling every single one of her well-laid plans (but secretly doing all the work while Chantal is a melodramatic asshole)? Because otherwise I got nothin’.
The cat is 17+ years old, Chantal was with Bibi for 7+ years.
LOL I meant on his mother's part. No way she wants him living at mom's house with no end in sight. He has to leave the nest eventually
