I'm gonna say this, I don't like Ethan Klein, his fans in this situation (go on reddit and you'll see them beating their chests and flinging poo on SOG) are acting like mongs. SOG's video was dumb, but seriously, you can't blame people for not wanting to watch a video that's 37 minutes that wastes so much of the viewers' time at the beginning with that flexing and him basically wasting time and repeating himself.
Yes, SOG should've done his own research better, his videos come off as a rambling mess, but Ethan's response was so cringe inducing and honestly, seeing SOG saying "I think it's dumb people are defending me", when I don't think they're essentially defending you, they're critiquing Ethan's points and such.

Despite the memes of pewdiepie "dropping redpills left and right" and standing up to the MSM, he tends to have basic, normie takes that he doesn't put too much thought into on issues that don't directly effect him. He never seemed to hate leafy or anything afaik, he ironically made a chin joke about leafy when calling out YT drama (he did a segment where he "insulted" a bunch of youtubers as a joke).
I wouldn't be surprised if in passing he said something bad about leafy's content a few times, but I don't think he ever made a video or took a strong stance against Leafy.

Only thing I could truthfully say about SOG is that his videos, and his recent live-streams for that matter, make H3’s podcast look like manufactured-for-YouTube nonsense for “smart” people to sound smart. While I can understand where SOG is coming from with this apology video, I fear this might send a trend of self-aware and (somewhat) “edgy” YouTubers to possibly get threatened by the play-it-safe, cookie cutter YouTubers.
All in all, this won’t probably end well for Ethan, but for other creators that don’t abide by e-celeb worshipping guidelines.

Memology's got a point. From what I recall Leafistan has some really awful libel/slander laws that are difficult to defend against accusations of. Trying to remember the fairly recent case of the guy who had to spend years to clear his name from spurious accusations; I think it was something gender-related but I can't recall. At any rate, getting rid of the videos is probably the smartest move he could have made, even if he's right. He wouldn't want to lose his fairly large channel and years of work over a Youtube slapfight, nor would he want to get embroiled in a legal fight that would be hard for him to win thanks to where he lives.
In an ideal world, you wouldn't be accused of slander just for getting a couple things wrong in a video criticizing someone else. But as it stands, it looks like the only way to safely criticize Ethan at this point is to either have a bigger channel than him (and preferably also be buddy-buddy with Susan) or live somewhere you can't get sued over it. Everyone else has to watch themselves.
Lump me in with the "used to watch, now he sucks" crowd. It was stupid entertainment mocking stupid and weird shit online, so it never set a high bar, but it somehow managed to get worse over time. Then once they focused more on the podcast than the videos, I abandoned ship. No real loss on my part, but it's crazy to see Ethan turn into the exact thing he would have made fun of. Mockery for thee, but not for me, I guess.
Also his fans are complete retards. Don't know why they're still trying to suck his cock, I'm pretty sure it's been lost under his fat for years.

This is honestly a little depressing TBH. It's like the YouTube community has just become a bunch of pussies who let scum like Ethan bully them around. Oh sure a couple people dip their toes into saying something about Ethan being a shitt person but once they get any pushback they run away. I don't get why people don't use H3H3s own tactics against him. Even Gokunarus video gave Ethan far too much credit, arguing that Ethan more "fell from grace" or "lost his way" rather then laying out how much of a scumbag he truly is.

I will tell you why, due to the corporatization of youtube that has happend since 2016, we now find ourselves with a group of powerholders. Men who hold actual power on the platform through connections with higher-ups at google. Which have manifested through many meetings due to actual issues needing to be ironed out. However these meeting have gone from cordial and sparse to more intimate meetings at the place of residence, this can easily be observed in the maternity visit from Susan herself to the Kleins in which she bore gifts for young Theodore. So you can probably infer what i mean. Due to their acquired favored status with the higher-ups they can leverage this for their gain to silence people if need be, so people tread carefully around them now.

This. We need another Gokanaru to come out and cover even more shit with Ethan, someone who actually wants to get at Ethan proper. Like you said, Gokuanaru used to like Ethan and seemed to "go easy" on him in his video (although I'm sure after his video got nuked I bet he holds a now worse opinion on Ethan). We need someone who won't give a shit about anything and really go in on Ethan, without worrying about channel strikes or whatever. Especially now since there's been a lot more stuff on Ethan since Gokunaru's video in late 2018.

Simply put, because they are all lying bastards that love to pretend they are struggling creators or even middle class to fool their fans so they keep buying heir merchandise and donate to them. Their goals is to get as rich as possible. And the worst part? It works.
