Supernatural Fandom

Supernatural is a great show. You should at least try a couple epsiodes. It won't take long to decide if you are going to like it or not.

Been going through season 1 slowly. One day, she decided to show me a later episode (the high school musical episode), and I've had a question ever since I saw it: at what point does the show stop taking itself seriously?

If I recall correctly, the first time they have a wacky episode was in season 2 where they go to a movie set . Then they have another really bizzare season 3 episode about aliens at a college campus . But they keep over the top crazy comedy to once or twice a season .The show is still the same basic premise and feel in season 13 as season 1 .

Supernatural is very similar to the original Dallas where no matter what details changed slightly the basic A plot is the same year after year and the main characters make the same mistakes for the same reasons over and over again .

after 13 years it would seem reasonable to maybe stop lying to each other and stop doing stupid shit behind each others backs.

and guess who they killed of again.

Gabriel

I thought it was hilarious that Michael and Lucifer stood over Gabriel's dead body during thier entire conversation . Michael's gleeful reaction at the oppurtunity to kill Gabriel again was a great moment .
Agree, about the lying/secrets being overplayed a little bit . I love Castiel but he is the worst one about either withholding information or outright scheming against the group sometimes for no apparent benefit at all.

WAIT WHAT didn't they JUST bring him back?? After being tortured for who knows how long?? like, fan-favorite and they just... kill him off... again?
Jeez I was meaning to catch up to the latest season but I might take another 5 months and procrastinate on that.

yes, yes they did.
he was a valuable character in my opinion, partly comic relief but also could help the winchesters with things if He Wasnt Killed Of By Dickwad Michael.

fuck michael

BTW, what was up with Dean in the latest season finale looking like an extra from Peaky Blinders in the final scene?

The finale special effects were very poorly done. The producers and Jensen both went on and on about how mind-blowing and amazing the finale was so to see a 90 second fight between Michael and Lucifer then the terrible glowing eye effect was disappointing .

Yeah, the whole last episode seemed like it was almost an afterthought to the previous one and very rushed (getting rid of Gabriel in the penultimate episode also seemed a bit of a cop out).

Thankfully i got into Supernatural super late and I really only watched it because I heard it had Satan and demons and I wanted to get in on that. Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino) and Crowley (Mark Sheppard) were be absolute fun to watch, and I really enjoyed Season 5 (originally the "final" season).

The Supernatural fandom is a force to behold, I'll say that much, and believe it or not, there are portions of the fandom that are embarrassed by how they acted as a group a few years ago and want to put that behind them. From my personal experience I am friends with fans who are older women that enjoy the show because the actors are sexy. They don't ship the actors with each other or do slash, but have fun squealing over how handsome they are and genuinely praising them for entertaining them for so many years, same as how women go for Channing Tatum or George Clooney or Hugh Jackman.

Thank God it’s finally ending. SPN has the third worst fandom I’ve ever read about, if you exclude sportstards, religious, and political fandoms.

Has anyone actually watched the latest seasons to see what happens? How much more painfully bad has it gotten and how much more have they tortured the main characters?
