I've seen it. It's wonderfully drawn Ed, Edd 'n Eddy porn, but it is what it is.

Then again she drew that shit how many years ago? I know I've drawn a lot of embarrassing shit I'm not proud of. I don't hold it against her too much, but I'm pretty forgiving of that sort of thing. Compared to a lot of other cartoon porn I've seen, it was incredibly tame... even if it featuring 13 year old boys.

Yeah, this isn't sounding very good with me downplaying this, is it? (:_(

As an aside: I'm glad I've never drawn porn.

More than just complain, they've threatened and complained to the staff of SU non stop since the crossover was announced and are already finding ways to pick it apart (ex. incest jokes that they don't like)

Here's Ian, the man of endless patience, responding to that:

Yes, they were very insulted by this.

Fandoms are the personification of that one person who's impossible to reason with. The person who yells at you for some perceived wrong, and then when you try to explain in the least confrontational manner possible that they are mistaken said person only delves into a deeper fit of anger because you're not acquiescing to their rage. I feel endless pity for creators who are subjected to people like this. No creative endeavor deserves to be bogged down by such negativity.

So, has the whole "sexless alien beings" thing been a selling point for these Tumblrites? I know it certainly seems to cater to the insane ideals of Allen Sheffield, also known as IDCP, but outside of that case is this a common point of contention in the fandom?

The fact that it surprises me that somebody hasn't drawn porn probably says a lot about the kinds of places I've been hanging out. *yawn*

I've seen more people play up the lesbians thing, personally, but I haven't seen that much fighting over it.

The "kind of places" in question being Tumblr.

To be fair, I've written plenty about sex, but nothing that could be constituted as porn.

Trust me, I was plenty jaded long before I joined Tumblr. Tumblr is small time.

I guess I don't really see any sense in shaming somebody for the porn they create. I kind of love looking at bizarre fetish stuff and rule 34 because it's just amazing to me that it exists and multiple people are into it. It's like collecting weird bugs.

The only time I really make fun of them is if they're super defensive about it and start chimping out over somebody remarking that the stuff they like is weird.

The thing about the whole artists drawing porn thing is that it's been done for decades at this point. Osamu Tezuka, creator of Astro Boy and referred to all-around as the "god of anime," drew borderline furry and transformation fetish drawings that weren't found until recent years.

borderline furry

He drew sexy mice with boobs and some kind of lady sex snake, that's pretty fuckin' furry.

... I feel we're getting off track here. Enough of this talk of weird porn! Let's talk about the Steven Universe fandom bitching about Uncle Grandpa some more.

Jesus Christ they hate Uncle Grandpa.

I think it's because the humor of the show is a lot of non-sequitur, and while I admittedly find it incredibly retarded, it's great to watch if you're stoned. Like, seriously, it's fucking hilariously bizarre sometime.

Tumblr is going too far with their vitriol for it though. It's just cartoons, chill the fuck out. God bless Ian Jones-Quartey, dude's got the patience of a saint.

It's weird that they hate a show that is getting a crossover so that the audience gets expanded. I guess they don't want actual children enjoying the show, or adults other than them.

They're treating this Steven Universe as if it's some sort of To Kill a Mockingbird-esque social commentary, and they seem to think that crossing it with Uncle Grandpa would be like crossing the Spongebob movie with 2001.

Uncle Grandpa is what Regular Show is and that show Chowder used to be but without any of the wit or intelligence behind the jokes. Its pretty much just random crap to keep a kid's attention.

The thing after watching the first 10 episodes of SU out of curiosity...it just feels like another adventure time with a loosely tied plot and a useless title character.

I gotta say, keep watching. It gets a fuckload better and more engaging.

I'm weary of any show where I have to watch dozens of episodes for it to get good. I've seriously had people tell me to watch 30 episodes of SU because it gets better. Man, remember when that happened with MLP and everyone hated it? Only furthers their negative reputation.

These people have no perception of the world around them that doesn't involve a cartoon filter in some way. Literally their entire worldview without exception is all about how a show on a cartoon channel interprets an issue, or how fans of a show react to something. Also I've seen enough of the show to know that even with the positive depiction of Greg sometimes you're supposed to laugh at him most of the time for various reasons.

Tumblr's boner for this show makes me have zero interest in it. That and I'm not sure I like the art style all that much.

Not a fan of discussing cartoon fandoms, but here's some nice stuff I got. Take this with a grain of salt.

For fucks sake, it's a children's cartoon show. Yes, it's somewhat charming. Yes, it's arguably got a few progressive aspects. Yes, there's going to be a shitton of porn for it, much like every other cartoon in existence. No, it's not going to make anyone give a fuck about nonbinary people; that's what real, non-tumblr advocacy is for.
Calm the fuck down, Tumblr. I swear, I'm floored by the level of emotional investment in such petty shit.

Jeez, what a bunch of turds.

Why don't they go ruin the Sonic Boom fanbase? That show is basically the horse show as far as quality goes!

...oh wait.

Bunch of lousy fuckers with nothing better to do but to sperg over a childrens cartoon because that's what it is at the end of the day, as good of a show as it may be.
