Over 2,000 corona-infected deaths in Sweden

84 more people have died in Sweden after falling ill in covid-19, reports the Public Health Agency on Thursday.
In total, over 2,000 people in Sweden have now died after being infected by the virus.
In total, 16,755 people have been confirmed infected in Sweden. 751 new cases have been registered during the past 24 hours.

"It's definitely not that we see any decline," says Anders Wallensten, assistant state epidemiologist, during Thursday's press conference.

A partial explanation for the increase in the number of confirmed infected patients may be that more healthcare personnel are being tested.

- But that's not the whole explanation, says Wallensten.

One quarter in Stockholm became infected in May
During the press conference Anders Wallensten also talked about a mathematical model that was published, and then withdrawn by the Public Health Authority, when it turned out to contain incorrect information.

- A variable has been found that is set to the wrong value that has affected the entire analysis. Now it has been changed. April 8 is considered to be the day with the most infectious people and not April 15, as has been said before. And in Stockholm, 26 percent are estimated to be or have been infected on May 1, which is slightly lower than previously stated, says Wallensten.

"The danger is not over"
The Deputy State Epidemiologist again stressed the importance of staying at home even if you just feel a little sick.

- It is spring sun and nice and nice outside. We have had questions about easing restrictions, but the danger is not over. We get signals from the care that it is still very tough. We have to endure, this is for real and we need to help protect the elderly.

"It is therefore important to keep distance even and not to spend more freely than we have done before," says Wallensten.

Enjoy lockdown and RIP your bank account because it doesn't look like you guys are gonna get your way lol.
Your welfare benefits run out in 6 months. The Senate is already signaling no more stimulus bills, States are no longer getting unlimited financial assistance from Uncle Sam.

Which means your lazy ass gets off the fucking couch. And if we catch you licking toilet seats this time, you go straight to the dark place.

Assuming I am American how typical. Americans need to get their head out of their ass and realize that this is a global issue and that they are not the only country dealing with this. Which means the economy is crashing for everyone. At least the world can be poor together which should soften the blow a bit since nobody is coming out ahead.

When I've been doing my first aid training, we're taught briefly on defibs, that are mostly modern and have an accented voice to tell you what to do, from removing the patients top, to placing the patches, then it analyses the heartbeat and alerts you if it needs to perform a shock.

It then tells you to stand back after you press the button to confirm a shock, says CHARGING/PREPARING, and then it does the shock, which looks pretty nasty, made the CPR dummy jump slightly.

The instructors did say that nowdays, they can use a lower, more accurate charge, but that you still don't want to be touching the guy/girl who gets zapped.

that’s an AED. They work a little different than the more full featured units the Paramedics and ER’s use. But the concept is the same.

I’ve said this before but I’ll say it again: the generational conflicts are whipped up by the media to stop family unity and promote division and to deflect from the real culprits.
The baby boomer generation where I live had to cope with rationing and severe poverty. Not the kind of poverty where you don’t have the latest stuff, proper ‘kids going to school with no shoes’ poverty.
That generation built up the postwar society, and they scrimped and saved to buy houses, they fought for real civil rights and women’s rights (the real stuff, not the fucking shambles that is SJW culture and third wave feminism.) They’ve done their time on the front lines of work and they deserve their retirement. Most where I live arent sitting in mansions, but in modest semis which they worked hard for. Which you will inherit when they pop off.
But go on and bash boomers. Don’t look upwards to the elites who decided that two incomes would allow house prices to expand to the point they have because affordability can be used instead of actual cost, trapping you in debt and forcing both parents to work long hours. Don’t look upwards to the people who have asset stripped that society, put zero hour contracts and a gig economy in place. Don’t look upwards to the people who have put a surveillance state in place. No, it’s definitely your granny in her nice cottage. All her fault.
If you believe this bash the boomers shit, you’re being played.

Way lower. The most was about 185, the other days was 170 ish. it will be higher per million than many places because they are not in a lockdown. I suspect that the areas under the curve will be similar for most comparable countries at the end of all this. Hail sweden, maybe I will move back there one day ....

the generation you are describing is not the Boomers. It’s the forgotten or largely invisible generation. They were kids during WW2. They are the ones that built the Post War world and sent men to the moon. Their children are Generation X. The Boomers came right after them. They are the Children of the “Greatest generation” that fought in WW2. They came of age in the late 60’s and were the proto SJW’s. The great protest generation. They largely built nothing and complained about everything. The Millenials are their children. The newer Gen Z are the kids of Gen X.

If you’re interested, ScotGov have put out a paper outlining the factors that will be comsidered in the exit strategy. It’s not uplifting reading, but it does take a very realistic tone. The options for exit are beginning to be explored, but nothing decided as yet. There is an admission that any rise of R above one will probably mean another lockdown.

However, this loss would be entirely borne by a subpopulation of 2.1 percent of the population, the average of whom suffer an average 9.79 YLL.

US population is 328.2 million 2.1% is 6,892,200 people. That number times 9.79 is years of list lost of 67, 474, 638.

The US will lose over 67 million years of life from continued mitigation techniques.

You mention people lining up to contract a virus, which is a common attack on people looking to get back to work.

Either way, fuck you for wanting to screw the economy, US or Global. You can be a piece of shit wherever you are in the world.

The tiny rainbow is for thinking the US only has a population of 328 million.

"If all the other countries were jumping off a bridge committing economic (and literal) suicide over a virus with an ever-decreasing estimate of lethality, would you do it?"

You act like yours or my viewpoint on the matter has any impact on the future. It is not up to you or me to dictate what countries/leaders do that is what governments are installed for. Assuming governments are doing all this for fun or to take away rights or hurt the economy is just a conspiracy theory at this point akin to Qanon fags.

I don't know where you reside, but speaking for the US, if TPTB don't get their head and ass wired together real soon, there's a good chance they will have an expedited Day of the Rope. Government, like their budgets, don't exactly have a surplus of trust and good will on a good day, if you know what I mean.

The US is government of the people, by the people, for the people, as Lincoln defined in the Gettysburg Address. It is definitely for us to dictate what our government does. If our elected representatives forget that, then @rando0675309 is correct in stating there is a increased possibility of a Day of the Rope scenario.

So you're admitting you don't matter. Got it. Will ignore what you say from now on.

Jenny?

Six straight days with no new cases in the province. Government still being non-committal about lifting restrictions. Anyone who travels to the province now needs to sign a legally binding declaration and submit a 14-day self-isolation plan which makes sense. I have to think after two weeks they have to start lifting restrictions, especially given we are on a island that is not that heavily populated.
