Quarantine in Peru got extended 2 more weeks, until May 10.

I got tired of making numbers and charts for this shit, honestly. It's pretty bad. There are videos of morgues collapsed, bodies in plastic bags pilled up inside offices because the morgues can't handle it anymore. People receiving oxygen outside the hospitals because inside there is no more place for them.

The government's response has been a complete failure. The quarantine was fine at first, but then, he took no more solutions besides keeping us inside and giving more money to people to stay inside, which isn't working because it'snot enough and you still need to go out to get food. Also, he's surrounded himself by social scientists who fucked up for real

1. The money bonuses for poor families was collected through banks. Hundreds of people left home to get their money and that exposed so many people to be infected.
2. The stupid idea of fighting the patriarchy by having each gender leaving house at different days so the house chores would be equally distributed... a week before holy week when markets and bodegas were closed, which crowded all food stores and exposed likely thousands to get sick as well.

The president shows up every day to a press conference but answers no actual question. Our Health Minister is a fucking commie (literal commie) who doesn't care much. He's responsible that we bought the rapid tests from China that are more expensive and have 90% rate of fake negatives. The hospital tests you, says you're negative and sends you home even though you're sick. There are already cases of people tested negative who died few days later and the autopsy says they had covid. People protesting this are accused of being "far-right".

I am fine, my family's fine as well. I feel terrible for my people, though. Press is praising Peru handling this because the president just gives money and commies love that, but the situation inside is pretty bad.

DeSantis's approach gives me mixed feelings, I appreciate he didn't power trip like some states have - but then people do seem to be genuinely trying to follow rules here - and outside necessity, I think that is helping to keep people willing to continue the stay-at-home orders a bit longer. We can't last till June tho, and that leads to his biggest issue right now...

Really his biggest trip-up has been unemployment. He totally slept for his entire term on fixing the Unemployment Insurance system. He threw money at getting it "sorted" - but lord knows what the DEO actually spent those funds on, because the website is a total mess. There was literally no movement on claims till he finally got fed up enough to punt the DEO guy in charge and put a new guy in last week.

Of course soon as he demands he gets claim numbers each day and puts new guy in, they finally start processing claims and then learn everyone in March literally fell out of the queue. So now they have April claims clearing, while people from March are still waiting for their $250 + $600

Democrats have natually jumped on it and fed out the story that the whole thing was intentional because GOP wants people to die. It could potentially cost them the state come the election.

In the early days of the outbreak they were invaluable and I watched their feed throughout the day. Then I was down to once a day due to lack of updates. Now it just seems they post a few country numbers and thats it. I get more info from Liveuamap, but there's a lot of dross in there.

Parsons is leaving the cities to make their own decisions so you have places in the boonies like franklin county opening theaters and shit tomorrow while kansas city and st. louis having indefinite stay at home orders.

Maybe instead of a 7th question about nursing homes some NY reporter will an hero their press credentials and ask Andrew about this at tomorrow's presser.

I don't know. I'm still curious why Cuomo and his idiot State Health Commissioner used executive orders to mandate that Nursing Homes must accept All Coronavirus infected patients sent to them and not tell anybody? Just found out my wifes 96 year old Grandmother tested positive in a NY nursing home. Thankfully she seems to have just run a fever for a few days and shrugged it off. Tough old gal.
