MOD NOTE:

There's so much news about North Korea right now and what Un is doing, I got a suggestion for a NK megathread, so here it is. Post the world's greatest nation's antics here. I'm merging a few of the more recent threads to continue discussion.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in has pushed for a new plan for a rapid war with North Korea and an overhaul of the country's defense industry to overwhelm and crush the North's government, the South Korean newspaper The Chosun Ilbo reported Tuesday.

Moon took office in May promising to attempt to engage diplomatically with North Korea and seek peace, but in the months since, the North has provoked the international community with missile tests at a blistering pace.

For some time, South Korea has been training a "decapitation force," reportedly with the help of the US Navy's SEAL Team 6, but now an increasingly bold North Korea may demand quicker action.

South Korea's new plan identifies more than 1,000 targets for precision missile fires and sites for marines to drop in and quickly kill North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, the paper reported.

The plan represents a more independent version of South Korea's current plan, which relies on support from US aircraft carriers. As it stands, no major military commander recommends military action against North Korea, which has a staggering array of conventional — and potentially nuclear — weapons pointed at Seoul, where 26 million call home.

But South Korea's new plan to quickly and decisively dominate the North relies on reforming the defense-acquisition process and cutting out wasteful spending to wield the full might of its economic dominance against Pyongyang, according to the report. For that reason, don't expect the plan to take effect anytime soon.

Sometimes I'm not really sure where 2020 lands for me. If Kim "Kim Kim Kim" Kim is legit dead for good it'd be the one hell of a year though nothing comes out of guesswork. If he doesn't this year, it's more of the same, and nature doesn't give a shit where you are if there's a pandemic, it'll creep like a shadow's hand on his shoulder. Not a matter of it, but when.

Equality in our dictatorships. It wasn’t to long ago morons were writing positive articles about her. Just imagine what they’d write if they put her in charge.

“New leader of the free world”

“Finally real socialism because women”

The fact that she is quite possibly even more bloodthirsty and dangerous than her brother speaks volumes. Her murdering him is/could be just the start of a horrible new era. She does seem like a Countess Bathory type. (I expect a middle aged era portrait with all the dark shading. That pic of Liz Bathory still gives me the heebie jeebies)

They actually said the doctors struggled because they had no experience treating obese patients.

IMHO if this fucker died in the table is more likely due to an undiagnosed / diagnosed but not treated heart condition, probably didn't pay much attention to what his cardiologist had to say, kept eating / drinking and once whatever he has started showing symptoms he was rushed to the table where he died or was found to be FUBAR. And as for the maybe he was too fat and doctors didn't know how to treat, he isn't that fat and a rib cage is a rib cage.

But how knows, maybe he is sipping margaritas in some resort.

Anesthesia is really tricky for obese patients, as is intubation, and so is trying to run a stent through heavily clogged arteries from groin to heart. I doubt NK doctors ever see clogged arteries except in the very elite - no one else would even get that kind of cardio healthcare in NK to even check save for the Kim family.

It makes sense NK doctors would have little experience with any of the above, nevermind they probably don’t perform many stent or bypass operations in the first place. NK depends heavily on foreign doctors for a lot of procedures that are routine in the West, but a foreign doctor was not an option for Dear Leader on short notice. (Probably not an option ever since they wouldn’t trust a foreigner with sensitive info on Un’s health)

Then you have the whole problem that any doctor would be terrified of operating on Un because it’s almost guaranteed to end with the doctor and his entire family being sent to a gualg if Un wakes up grumpy or executed if he has complications or died.

Reports are that Un grabbed his chest and collapsed. He was taken in for emergency stent and the doctor was ill prepared, experienced and terrified. It might have been too late already if he suffered a massive heart attack.

The biggest problem had been Un was obese, a heavy smoker and in terrible health but what doctor was going to tell the perfect god like leader he was in shit shape and needed a to lose weight, stop smoking and get a stent or bypass? Being a dictator’s doctor is a high risk position because they are prone to shoot the messenger. I have a feelings his doctors were too scared shitless to ever deliver bad news.

South Korea's National Assembly (국회) meets tomorrow (mostly to talk about Coronavirus aid) - will be formally discussing KJU.
In the comments, a lot of people want answers from their own Dear Leader Moon, on whether KJU is dead or not.
Moon has handled NK with kid gloves. The way both SK and the USA tried to dismiss and downplay the rumors made me think they were true. I’d say they are scrambling to take advantage of the situation behind the scenes and don’t want to piss off a skittish NK in a precarious position by fanning speculation publicly or showing their hand.

SK has extensively monitored Un’s health and I guarantee had a planned extensively for his early demise. Shit they even had doctors counting Un’s breaths per minute while he talked to Moon. (And everything indicated a man in very poor health struggling to get adequate oxygen.)

A negotiator between russian and north korean parliaments says that he discussed the news with korean ambassador. The rumours are not true.

Honestly I didn't expect anything different than that, but a lack of diplomatic or military activity puzzles me.

So he dies and everyone does nothing like nothing happened. Maybe they do some preparations, but we don't know about it yet.

New Dear Leader on way to first day of onii-san's job.

You just fucking know the Japs are already hard at work on the Manga version of this. With the necessary twist. Young Highschool Girl discovers she's the secret sister to Dear Leader, and gets whisked away to become the Supreme Leader. Hijinks ensue.

But Kim is (or was) the very elite and I doubt the team in charge of his health lacked experience dealing with patients his size. Yes, there could have been complications due to his size but I believe it came to the patient refusing treatment and lifestyle changes rather than his medical team lacking experience handling obese patients.

Combine his smoking and obesity with the history of heart problems in his family (both his father and grandfather died after heart attacks), and you have the recipe for a disaster that Un's medical team may not be equipped to resolve.

NK has brought foreign (Chinese etc..) doctors in for sensitive procedures for years. Their own doctors have not had the training and lack the advance equipment needed for many procedures that are routine in the west. Even if they buy the equipment for Un’s Private hospital (or the Kim family wing of the largest NK hospital) the doctors don’t have the experience and adequate training needed to use it.

Exactly. The issue seems to be the stent procedure wasn’t scheduled because no one wanted to tell Un it was needed (or maybe he told the doctors they were wrong and sent them to the gulag) or they struggled with procuring a foreign doctor to do the procedure. I mean it’s one thing for doctors to travel for “treatments” but very dicey to perform a procedure that could result in death. I don’t think any country would risk one of their nationals being in charge if Un died on the table.

Then when the inevitable heart attack occurred NK didn’t have any experienced doctors ready to perform the procedure under emergency conditions. I would imagine every doctor summoned shit bricks and did their utmost to bow out until one basically had a gun to his head to perform the procedure.

I have no way if knowing if any of this is true so I'll take your word but, really? Jesus Christ fatass, all you had to do was go to China to get an MRI, how could you be such a fucking, stupid moron.

the Soviet Union did this dance a number of times. Chernenko, Andropov come to mind. The whole “nothing to see here!Yuri who? Never heard of him? Our leader is perfectly fine and healthy. We’ll let you know his new name later.”
