NYT Reporter Flags Video to Youtube Because It Shows UV Light Treatment to Fight Virus Similar to What Trump Described

Media went a little wild on Friday spreading the false story that President Donald Trump told people to inject themselves with disinfectants like bleach or Lysol.

That wasn’t what Trump actually said, as we previously reported. He didn’t suggest anyone inject bleach or Lysol. He was asking questions in the context of the presentation just given by the DHS undersecretary Bill Bryan about the benefit of sunlight or UV light to disinfect or kill the virus. He asked if there “something like that” that could work as a possible treatment.

Turns out, as we noted, there are also scientists who were exploring this very concept, using ultraviolet light to “disinfect” the lungs.

Many people shared a video showing the work of doctors at Cedar Sinai who have developed the “Healight.”

From Townhall:

The idea is to administer ultraviolet light inside the bodies of patients inflicted with respiratory infections. The research team at Cedars-Sinai is currently working with the FDA to explore an expedited regulatory process to use the treatment as a possible medical intervention for those suffering from the Wuhan coronavirus.

They’re working with Aytu BioScience to help develop and market it.

The Healight technology employs proprietary methods of administering intermittent ultraviolet (UV) A light via a novel endotracheal medical device. Pre-clinical findings indicate the technology’s significant impact on eradicating a wide range of viruses and bacteria, inclusive of coronavirus.

“Our team has shown that administering a specific spectrum of UV-A light can eradicate viruses in infected human cells (including coronavirus) and bacteria in the area while preserving healthy cells,” stated Dr. Pimentel of Cedars-Sinai. Ali Rezaie, MD, one of the inventors of this technology states, “Our lab at Cedars-Sinai has extensively studied the effects of this unique technology on bacteria and viruses. Based on our findings we believe this therapeutic approach has the potential to significantly impact the high morbidity and mortality of coronavirus-infected patients and patients infected with other respiratory pathogens.

So, it sounds like scientists don’t think that Trump’s idea was all that silly, right? That they’re actually already working on it. There are also multiple other efforts underway looking at the use of UV light to kill the virus.

But this didn’t sit well with a New York Times reporter, Davey Alba, who says that she flagged the video to Youtube because people were spreading it in the wake of Trump’s comments.

How incredible is this? She’s literally tried to shut down a description of a possible therapy by enterprising scientists because it might actually back up what Trump said. And Youtube pulled it for “violating standards.” What standards? Being something that shows Trump might be right?

Fortunately, the video had already been downloaded everywhere and Aytu BioScience has a backup on their site. “For reasons still unclear.”

Many are now talking about UV light being used as a treatment for COVID-19. We are proud to have teamed up with @MarkPimentelMD and his team at @CedarsSinai. They developed Healight. Peer-reviewed data will be published in days, but here's how it works: https://t.co/9E6dyOkwhI

It’s called media TDS and describes those who can’t stand to see Trump be right about anything and so are willing to censor actual science intended to help fight the virus.

--------

TDS has gotten so bad we have reached the "He could cure cancer and they would hate him for it" scenario.

does this makes uv light dialysis any less exceptional
I don't think it really matters how effective or promising the treatment it is, if it is a nuanced and complex process he would likely make it sound dumb by explaining it in the very simple way he talks.
Imagine him explaining radiation therapy for cancer. It would probably sound like some Warner brothers cartoon plot mixed with happy tree friends, but its a well established medical procedure.

Yeah but let’s shine that light into our respiratory system and see how that pans out
That's why the video explains they're going to filter the UV light so only the harmless UV-A is being used. Which supposedly still kills bacteria and viruses at the correct wattage. Now! If they get this working is up in the air. If it cleans out the lungs, though, it should make it easier to recover for the patient and seems easier than lung lavage. Of course it could also set fire to test dummies.

I hope it does work and helps, but that's because I'd like future deaths to be preventable. Hopefully these madlads can pull it off without any Griswald Christmas Vacation mishaps.

TRUMP THINKS YOU SHOULD GO SIT IN A NUCLEAR REACTOR TO CURE YOUR CANCER! HE'S DUMB! AND IF ANY OF HIS FANS IMMEDIATELY BOOK FLIGHTS TO PRIPYAT, THEIR DEATHS ARE ON HIS HANDS!!!!!! HE IS SO DOOMED THIS ELECTION! HOW CAN ANYONE VOTE FOR HIM NOW?!?!?!?!?

Hopefully these madlads can pull it off without any Griswald Christmas Vacation mishaps.

Well, of course, in a real hospital setting the, uhm, patient won't combust quite that fast..... mhey...... [/Prof. Frink]

UV-A can still cause cancer
I imagine the rate is slower, but it's true the risk is there. If it doesn't work it doesn't work and I'll likely be bummed.

Such is life. Although, I'm still hoping it might work if only because I'd like there to be an effective treatment to clean the lungs for more than just APA... Or is it PAP? Anyways, be sure to rate me optimistic like with the peptide treatment for cancer.

Trump said to literally inject disinfectants. The delusion and cope is unreal.

"THE PRESIDENT: Right. And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning. Because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs. So it would be interesting to check that. So, that, you’re going to have to use medical doctors with. But it sounds — it sounds interesting to me. "

So, tell me, where's "inject bleach into your bloodstream" here? Or was the suggestion in the form of a bleach-ist dogwhistle?

"Every pill has a bit of poison in it"

Some patients will die despite even heroic efforts, medical school is frank and up front about this.

Only politicians think this is some great big lie and/or horrible eugenics conspiracy and demand 100% cure rates from every treatment or else they'll ban it to "save lives" .

Tell me where I claimed he said inject bleach?

Sure, okay.

He said inject disinfectant.

Bleach is a disinfectant, genius.

Davey Alba has a history of doing shit like this. NYT goes out of its way to hire people who will work to bring death to thousands to prove them right. Can't just go with this technology exists and its being looked at. Haha look at the dumb republican science denier while bouldering down actual scientists when it suits the narrative. Does she not realize that more people catch onto this everyday?
Edit to add: ultraviolet blood irradiaton has been used for over 70 years.

Twitter has also suspended Aytu Bioscience's account. They're the company pitching and working on those Healights. Classy as always, media!

The modern lefts love of science on display right here. If it supports their ideal, oh yeah, BTFO righty! If it doesn't in any possible manner at all, gotta get rid of it. Would love it if the masses learned that most "science" is ideologically screened before any lab work is done.

In personal experience its a hard barrier to pass even in hard sciences like geology or chemistry. If not outside pressures than the people who grant funding within the university system. Even if research is sound the reputation a professor or researcher has can fuck them hard.

The company, Aytu BioScience, has been around since 2002. They specialize in novel treatments. The video doesn't even call it a confirmed treatment, nor does it say it's FDA approved. This journo must be functionally illiterate.

This company has a Covid-19 test kit that is FDA approved. This isn't some woo crap Twitter just suspended.

Vimeo also took the video down. Bitchute still has it.

I have a novel idea you folks might be interested in trying out if you ever get tired of reading stories like this day after day after day.
