He's so pants on head exceptional that if someone said to me, "He was a plant to make the democrats/the city of new york even shittier," I would almost not argue (almost, i dont want to misatttibute any sort of brilliance to this man).April 21st: NY issues do-not-resuscitate guideline for cardiac patients amid coronavirus (archive)
April 22nd: New York scraps do-not-resuscitate order during coronavirus pandemic (archive)
Both of these links have been already archived, so they've probably already been posted in the thread. Either way, I'm posting it here right now since NY seems to be the hot topic at the moment.
I don't know if that one video from the alleged nurse is true (we need a lot more verification before anyone just "goes" with this) ... However, I wouldn't be shocked if it did turn out to be true.
There is plenty of evidence out there already that EMTs and doctors are being told to neglect some patients in New York City. It sadly wouldn't shock me in the slightest if doctors were ordered to just "let" their patients die after they've been put on a ventilator. And now Andrew Cuomo is sending still infected patients back into nursing homes (along with body bags-- classy) after telling Trump and the Federal Government that they didn't need that relief ship.
Andrew Cuomo AND Bill DeBlasio responded incredibly slowly to this pandemic. They were actually encouraging New Yorkers and tourists in the city to go out and party after the National Emergency was declared! Now we're getting reports of health professionals being ordered to not resuscitate some people? On top of that, Cuomo is sending infected patients to nursing homes? And he sent the relief ship BACK? I know I'm repeating myself, but come on.
Cuomo's press conference from last week, where he downplayed unemployment, rising domestic violence, and suicide: He claimed that he feels like he's "losing family members" when he sees the death toll in New York every day. Considering his orders to send infected patients to nursing homes along with body bags ... I call bullshit! He also referred to COVID-19 as "the disease is death." Yeah, well ... Maybe it is death under Andrew Cuomo's leadership based on what we're finding out.
The leadership in New York has fucked up its response in every which way. No matter how you dice it, there is ZERO excuse for a single fucking state to have almost 50% of COVID-related deaths throughout the entire United States. Look at California: Huge, densely populated state ... Not near the catastophy of New York. No excuse!
And Cuomo is the Democrats' new rising star? What a fucking joke.

BoJo's back Baby!
I feel like this is so obvious everyone already knows and just aren't mentioning, but could the hyperferritinemia be connected with sickle cell anemia and thalassemia? (I have a trait of the latter disorder, inherited through family from southern China.) In these conditions, as far as I understand it, our hemoglobins aren't the right shape and therefore iron is unable to bond properly. Doctors in the UK don't care about my condition much and continued to pressurise me to take iron, despite it causing iron overload.
Sickle cell anemia has the famous sickle shape, which causes these cells to create blockages in blood vessels which are painful. Ofc, SCA is very prevalent in Africa. And interestingly provides protection against malaria, just like quinine. Thalassemia is common (apparently) in Mediterranean and Asian countries.
Forgive my only general knowledge about this and it might be nothing.
I honestly don't know what to think anymore. There's supposedly a shortage of healthcare workers in New York City, but apparently healthcare workers are being let go from work in Upstate. This whole thing is just a clusterfuck.
How many years has NY given more than it's taken, supporting bumfuck states? Every year? So when your rich uncle needs you to help him out after he fell and broke his hip you're going to tell him to fuck off but you'll still be there with your hand out for cash next year?
autistic ratings anticipated, sad shit
It's funny because the lion's share of said NY money likely goes into things such as farming subsidies which are necessary to actually feed a cesspit of 20 million angry morons.

The amount of stuff that can cause hyperferritinemia is large as fuck. I wouldn't look too much into it. My best guess is it's whatever treatment they used.
On the one hand. That's actually normal. Certain areas need more healthcare than others. On the other. Has new york considered actually, you know, mobilizing the workers and sending them where needed, instead of whatever the fuck it is they're doing?! What the absolute mother of mismanagement is wrong with Cuomo?! Even madrid has sucked less. And they're deathtoll is... fuck me sideways Madrid's deathtoll. Most of spain is actually under the global mean when it comes to deaths, reason we're so high as a country IS MADRID. Just saying.
Alright time for an autistic rating from me too then. TLDR, what this guy said:
So I would recomend you go read my argument with @RomanesEuntDomus to get the jist of this one. Do mind the autism because even I recognize I lost my manners there. But. Point is, the issue with this is, what everyone knows (as much as we like to pretend otherwise) is that Germany will be fine even if the EU collapses entirely. They'll have to mind their commerce more, it will hurt them, they won't care too deeply. As @Stoneheart likes to remind us all the time. Spain also doesn't need the EU. And most of us think we'd be better off with it. But wether that's true or not even if the EU collapsed and we were getting something out of it, we'd survive just fine. Our argument in the end is most a matter of perspective as such. They think Spain gets a net positive for being part of the EU and that Germany is doing things right therefore everyone should aspire to do things like Germany. Spain thinks it is not that simple and we need to do things our way and by keeping us from doing so the EU is harming us, and many including me think this is because it benefits other areas of the EU. Who is right or wrong however. Doesn't matter here. Because here's a little secret:
You see. New York ISN'T like Germany. If the Federal government collapses, New York is FUCKED. Here's a little bit of economics for ya: money isn't real. Money doesn't actualy have a solid value. Money is just a simplification of a contract. It is a representation of value. There are 3 sectors in economy: primary, secondary and tertiary. Countries that have a strong primary sector (like spain) tend to make a lot less money, because the 3rd world can easily flood the shelves with cheap copies of that. Countries that have a strong tertiary sector, like britain, make a lot of money, because the tertiary sector moves more money, but there is a catch:
Truth is, the primary sector is NEEDED. Without it the other 2 sectors are WORTHLESS. Because the primary sector is what generates actual prime matter, like minerals, and food. As such, despite making less money, the money sent to the primary sector is more valuable. Because it is what actually gives the economy worth.
This is why despite their obvious focus on making as much money as possible not even the germans are stupid enough to forget about actually having farms inside the country. Because if they didn't have them they'd actually NEED spain/poland/etc. To feed them.
Because despite how efficient the third world is at flooding the shelves, it does so with poorly maintained, diseased, abusive shit that no one actually wants. Depending on the 3rd world for your primary sector needs is exceptional, it leads to instability, massive recalls, chain collapses, quality issues and as we're seeing now PANDEMICS.
New York however is practically ALL tertiary sector. It's primary sector has been drained by mismanagement and buttfucked into oblivion. Which means that unlike Germany, if New York stops sending money to those oh so needy rural states and rust belt areas, YOU ARE DEAD. You won't have an industry to keep you maintained or a primary sector to keep you and that industry fed. You are gone. It's that simple.
That is why the money new york gives the feds is so important. Because money is ALL new york produces. It's economy is only ever kept afloat by the other states. And said states endure an uncompetitive economy, and worse jobs with higher lethality and longer hours, to make it possible. But truth is, in the end, if USA collapses Kentucky will survive eating theit fried chiken and doing other stereotypes I don't know about. NYC however would be quickly turned to rubble.
This is what the catalonians are reminded of whenever they try to secede. And the reason madrid was never stupid enough to try it. Truth is despite how much they hate us, catalonians NEED andalusians to man their farms and produce their toys. No matter how much they despise our supposed lazyness. We're the ones working for their shiny businesses, and if they seceeded and found a frontier stuck on their ass their businesses would move somewhere else, because they have no inherent worth.
You know how this ends? When you start competing with other states that keep you fed like that? When the big cities are given preference because of the money they make at the expense of the primary and secondary sectors? CHINA. That is how. You end with farms that need to massively overproduce to even stay afloat, and resort to horrid overuse of antibiotics, awful working conditions and overlooking safery standards to even try and get up to par, and wind up spreading disease after disease. You wind up with cities that can't even realize the need to keep their citizens alive as it is more economically sound to just let fate decide the outcome, and with education entities mocked worldwide. It is hell. It is the 3rd world.
Protect. Your. Fucking. Supply. Chain. It's the one thing keeping your country alive. Don't forget that. And don't forget those oh so evil rural right wing gun loving hillbillies are the one thing keeping your pristine city from becoming a postapocalyptic wasteland.
Probably something along the lines of "MYSTERY coronavirus complications SOARING in CHILDREN as cases SURGE into the tens". Or if none of the patients die it'll be forgotten completely.interesting, and will be interesting to see the media/public reaction.
That’s public school hair, that is. The floppy foppy fringe is a mark of the public school. Only the ones who ended up at sandhurst have buzzcuts. It’s part of his image - carefully chaotic.I just wish that Boris took a haircut. More of a buzzcut.
Women, whether from China, Italy or the U.S., have been less likely to become acutely ill — and far more likely to survive.
Which has made doctors wonder: Could hormones produced in greater quantities by women be at work?
Now scientists on two coasts, acting quickly on their hunches in an effort to save men’s lives, are testing the hypothesis. The two clinical trials will each dose men with the sex hormones for limited durations.
How high we talking?
Apart from the other stuff that can cause v high ferritin....Do you remember the mess that was the TGN1412 trial? It was a monoclonal antibody to CD28 and was supposed to be used for B cell CLL. Instead it whipped up their T cells into a frenzy and all the participants were severely ill, with: cytokine storm, burning feelings in the skin, pulmonary infiltration and respiratory distress (I think, I’d need to go look it up.) as far as I recall they also had insanely high ferritin.
