This reminds me of something that's been in the back of my mind throughout all this:
I find it really interesting how the Comicsgate people couldn't even draw upon some affinity for manga throughout all this.
What is manga if not a comic, most often in black & white, that you read backwards? A Marvel or DC movie, or TV show, is the full motion adaptation of a comic. An anime is frequently the full motion adaption of a manga.
I dunno. Maybe there's a difference. Maybe they can't get past the art style. I gave up American comics forever ago, and I only read manga occasionally. You needn't worry about my literacy though. Thanks to Funimation's horseshit, I now mostly read my anime!

But I imagine you're talking about them reviewing comics and the like, and not them just embracing manga art style. In that case... there's the occasional manga video from them, but not much.
I actually can't think of any of them that really cover manga and anime, other than RGE, and RGE doesn't really do reviews and the like.

What I'm getting at is that I find it interesting that I really didn't see anyone on the comics side proclaim their love of the Full Metal Alchemist manga (for example), and recognize the connection between Vic and Edward Elric.
Even though Vic voiced Edward Elric in the anime adaptations, they are adaptations of the manga (Brotherhood more so, because it was produced after the manga finished its run).
This is akin to how ScarJo plays Black Widow on the silver screen, and her character is drawn (hardy har har) from the pages of Marvel comics. CG will gladly wade into controversies regarding Marvel Studios, with at least some some degree of authority. As well they should.
I would have imagined, given the similarities between the mediums, there would be a LOT of cross pollination between the comic and manga fandoms. As a boomer weeb, I can tell you there is considerably more English translated manga, commercially available now, than when I was growing up. It's like night and day. Without getting into a detailed historical discussion concerning modern manga, it should suffice to say Japanese manga and American comics share strands of DNA, and are "cousin" art forms.
Instead, the loudest people on the comics side (i.e. TUG and YF) really only ever understood there was "generic SJW faggotry afoot." They saw the chance to get some jabs in on Renfamous, shill their own comics-related endeavors, and then use the entire mess to proselytize ComicsGate. Again, not under the direction of their nominal leader: Richard C. Meyer. Meyer's silence here is commendable.
So, basically, I'm left wondering how many people in CG actually give a shit about Vic. Or, for that matter, how many of them even care about the anime and manga industries. I even question whether I have been wrong in my assumption that a lot of comics fans appreciate manga.
I stay the fuck out of CG because I honestly wouldn't be qualified to comment on it. The very last American comics I bought were from Marvel's 2099 series. Those are so old, I think my mom gave me allowance money to buy them. If I am to understand CG, the comics industry has endured some radical changes since then (mostly for the worst). I am thus well and truly out of the loop. Much in the same way Meyer might be with respect to anime and manga.
TL;DR version: I found TUG and YF's involvement in Weebwars largely unhelpful, and their motivations suspicious. I don't hate them, but I wish they were swapped out for people who had a genuine passion for anime and manga, and/or a genuine appreciation for Vic. Emosh and Hero Hei, by comparison, are fine.

They've been mad and will be mad about the GFM and Nick till the end of time, since Nick helped save a man that was probably close to putting himself 6 feet under the ground due to his "friends" of 20 years all backstabbing him and trying to remove him from the one thing he live for, his fans.
