The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

That always bugged me about post apocalypses. Why haven't people reorganized and started producing? Granted this gets answered in different ways, and outside of Bethesda's garbage Fallout does have a pretty clear line of progression.

The problem is not many people want to read/play the post-post apocalypse despite it also being an interesting idea and concept. There always has to be a semi-holding pattern. Stuff like Hunger Games does it pretty well at least in a young adult setting. Fallout New Vegas would sort of explore it by hinting towards the fact they have railroads, can maintain a monorail with the NCR in one direction, and Sallow's call for a simpler level of civilisation to better adapt to a world in which electrical resources (and by extension most tech) will run out or to which most knowledge to maintain it is mostly lost.

You'd basically get a faux victorian setting similar to the Policing the Apocalypse series which is a pretty nice set of books available on Amazon within 20 years of people securing a safe zone with enough resources or available short-medium salvage to be able to begin a reboot of civilisation. So imagine steam trains and oxen carts working alongside the last scavenged road vehicles running on wood gas or hemp based biodiesel.

Heck, even the Monroe Republic in the hack-tastic Revolution tried to explore people rebuilding in various ways but then brought back magic gubbins to get around the NANO MACHINES, SON issue.

But nobody wants that. Apparently.

Wasn't Anita on a kick a couple years ago about "Gunz and violence bad!" in video games? Druckmann seems to be a big fan o her, wonder if she'll give him a talking to?

In light of this I'm replaying Tales of Bersaria and MGSV, two much better games about vengeance.
Where was the vengeance part in MGSV? You don't even fight Skullface to like a fistfight or tentacle rape shit or something. He gets killed if i remember right by Psycho Mantis. And I was looking forward to the Gitmo scenes they had in one of the early trailers for MGSV. It was in the Phantom Pain, not ground zeros trailer. Probably would have been better if they combined both games into one as I like Ground Zeros more than Phantom Pain.

shouldn't money trump ideology here?
Why are they so shit at business?
Wokeness comes before all else. It's one of the reasons it's so damaging to any industry or hobby where it tries to take hold. As others have said, signaling virtue is the most important thing to these imbeciles. Everything else is merely a secondary concern, and if it conflicts with the primary goal, it's thrown out.

Probably some stupid fucking reason such as this game starting with Joel dreaming about playing minigolf with Sarah or something

Stole it from a better writer from a better game with better plot/story and strong female characters that don't look like fucking hobgoblins yet still have a character hulk out at the end for reasons that are explained all in a goddamn communist utopia.

The only thing missing is Joel saying "'Would you kindly...."

Edit: Stolen Valor by @Ponderous Pillock fuck.

The justification of everything looking nice is that the world fixed itself after world war 2 rather quickly including surviving two blasts from nuclear bombs.

The world was only able to repair itself quickly was because America was untouched and was able to manufacture everything and ship it overseas safely with the new powers the US navy was given in the aftermath of WW2. In TLOU everyone is fucking affected, nobody can make shit and you're scavenging for what existed pre-pandemic.

That gym is a modern gym, that's something you can have if you live in an area that has next to no violence and plenty of resources. You're not going to want large ground level windows if you have monsters out and about who can't really feel pain and can break glass with ease.

Why even bother with a post apocalyptic setting? Just make it normie mcnormalsville like Dawson's Creek.

Man this is a dumpster fire of epic propoertions. If those leaks are real then the game set in a world with horrible plant monsters won't have any of that but a lot of bullshit. Good thing my pile of shame is huge enough that I can distract myself. Heck I think I will try to get CoD 1 and 2 running on my current PC. Just to get in the nostalgia zone again.

Someone should write a game where you fight the "evil matriarchy". Man what would I give to see the journos reaction to that
