Thats because the only groups that effectively shut down speech is people on the left. and the left never attacks people's alternative sexuality. because he doesn't do anything that might piss off the leftists that usually destroys people's lives he continues to live on. even in the 1920s there were books with drawings like his shared amount groups, and outside of this one group of evil people in the 30s/40s most countries were fine with not prosecuting people that draw obscenity like he does. even the so called "transgressive" acts like GG Allin or more long lived people like John Waters never spent a day in prison despite how his works were pushing the limits of free speech and good taste. really this guy has never tested boundaries of free speech because outside of that group of evil people in the 30s/40s no one has effectively stopped this sort of shit or given enough of a fuck to try and form a boundary around this. people are going to bring up Larry Flint and his elk, but again long bogus legal battles that almost always resulted in his favor isn't the same as spending 1000 years in prison because someone hundreds of miles away died and we don't like your politics.

Honestly I'm more amazed he didn't/hasn't tried to capitalize on his fame. Like i could imagine him being head of his own animation studio and making animated tv shows for companies like Netflix. The fact that we don't have him being a guest star on Big Mouth or Rick and Morty says more about how humble he must be more than anything. I'm sure he could have been a lot bigger with his talent and notoriety.
