Those are great points, too. The distinction between sex and gender doesn't get explored enough -- even more so since some idiots seem to think they're one and the same. And will shout you down otherwise. No kidding, I've seen articles stating that "biological sex is a social construct", and that you are "assigned your sex at birth by the doctor". Not gender. Actual biological sex. A social construct. Assigned by the doctor. Try to parse that if you can.
I was definitely referring to discomfort with one's actual, physical body. In the past those would be called just transsexuals instead.
For people who are unhappy with social norms and whatnot... well, there's no better time to get that worked out of your system. Men can stay at home and raise kids while women get to work, and I hear this Eddie Izzard guy made a nice career being a crossdresser-- sorry, I think the term he likes to use is "action transvestite". And they can even shop online for women's underwear now, without having to steal their SO's, or try to convince the girl at the lingerie shop that those XXXX-tra large stockings that would fit them perfectly are actually for their girlfriend.
Of course, if the issue is purely social there's really no need to insist you're a female. The problem is that shit gets conflated and so an autist who doesn't know their place in the world ends up convinced of and becoming obsessed about being female both in social and sexual stances. That's where the true troonery lies. That is the field where the lolcows are set to pasture.
