Now that John can add "Failed political candidate" to his list of "Failed Journalism student" and "Failed video game designer" and "failed outlaw street racer", I wonder what his next nadir will be.

Within a week of the game dropping, there were >1 hour speedruns on the hardest difficulty with 0 deaths and 0 saves popping up on YT. If John's crap performance with Peach on SMB2 is any indication, 58 minutes on Standard is going to be the best he can do.

Also just for a bit more context, that's only the second of five difficulties, and his completion on Assisted would allow him to use special items (which give regeneration powers, infinite Ammo, that kind of thing). There's no way in Hell he's doing a purist run.
