The woke crowd is always like this. Virtue signaling is a weapon you use to your advantage, not something you apply equally. The left eat their own because they can when its convenient. Druckman is especially a loathsome individual because he forced a one of the best female writers in the industry out, spouting his fake beliefs, all while having the writing and management skills of a child throwing a tantrum.

It'd be something if this was something that did something new, like maybe it has a slight telepathic ability that allows it and others to find you via alert pheromones in the stalks of the fungus. Like it alerts others not with noise, but smell. A subversion of the clickers and a way for you to have to find a new method of stealth sometimes. But nahh, it just a zombie that don't matter in this post apocalyptic zombie game.

Hell, an idea that a buddy and I thought of was that Ellie is kind of a cure to keep the ambiguity of Joel lying. On one hand, she willingly gives blood with antigen and spores and those injected while infected take longer to turn, noticably so. But they still do, and their strain is more dangerous; their fungal zombies more... intelligent if you will. Maybe the cerebrospinal fluid sample could also add some things, but it's still a crapshoot to keep it.

But this is like bragging about beating a crippled and blind child in a boxing match. ANYONE could write a better idea than Druckmann and it'd work.

Like everyone else said, the woke shit was done by Square's subsidiaries based in the West.

Stuff like Final Fantasy and Nier are made in Japan where "woke" culture isn't all that prevalent and the moral guardians/political correctness crowd have different priorities and a different mentality over there.

Japan is a very conservative and rigidly conformist culture, sort of like America in the 1950's and early 1960's, and the Japanese Left tends to be more in line with the old left of the 20th Century West, more focused on labor unions and economic leftism than pronouns and privilege.

Getting back on topic, I can't believe just how bad this is going to be.

Like I said, Last of Us 2 will go down as one of the biggest flops in video game history and will be in the same chapter of the vidya history books as Custer's Revenge, Daikatana, Superman 64, MK vs. DC Universe, Duke Nukem Forever, Mass Effect Andromeda, and Fallout 76.

This is going to be combining the awfulness of Battlefield Earth and the genre-killing potential of Heaven's Gate.

If it really was just bullshit 4chan rumors, Sony wouldn't go all batshit over the mere mention of these leaks existing.

If the rumors of Sony refocusing more of their efforts on Japan and they start to undo more of their proposed censorship policies are true, maybe this could have a larger downwind effect for other gaming companies?

If everything is as has been rumored, extremely. Neil Druckmann and Harvey Smith (of Dishonored) both went out of their way to shamelessly lionize her on multiple occasions.

We know how involved Anita was with Dishonored II (namely that it was quite literally changed to prop her narratives up), and if anything, Druckmann is far worse. Not only is he an especially shameless white knight, but he's never really even attempted to hide how big an ideologue he is. Here's a great example from a Rolling Stone interview where he's asked about how Anita's shit effected him:

I would like to point out that this particular tester that Drucky is complaining about had the same problem with Nadine fucking everyone else had - that she was underutilized, was able to kick the shit out of Nate for reasons of plot contrivance, and then had the balls to pretend she had a moral high ground. It's bad fucking writing, and yet he writes it off entirely as misogyny because he's convinced it's perfect.

Basically yes.

The thing is, I (and I reckon most people) have no problem with them telling stories like this one, if they made it an original IP. But they never do, do they? It's not about their "artistic vision", it's about tearing down something you liked because that's the only way people care about what they're doing. Call this game "Dykebasher: The Revengening", and it would just quietly flop. But tack it on to a beloved existing property like TLOU and it makes a big splash.

This story has nothing to do with zombies and doesn't need to be in a post-apocalyptic setting at all.

Comparing Smith and Druckerman is unfair. While Smith is definitely quite on the left, he also has integrity as a creator and so he raised Emily without diminishing Corvo. While I find his politics on a personal level annoying, he hasn't allowed them to interfere with his work only used them as an impetus to add to said work. An important difference.

Druckerman is a hack and genuinely a bad person. Where as Smith allows his politics to inform but not control his creativity, Druckerman went "Control? YES PLEASE I'LL TAKE TENTHS!" and allows his ideology to absolutely rule every single aspect of his life.

It's really incredible with how much hatred and contempt these companies have for their own customers.

When the DLC came out, and it was revealed that Ellie "batted for the other team," it was hardly a controversy. If there was one, then the outrage for the sequel would have happened long before these leaks had come out, let me tell you. I haven't seen a single person say "Who cares about the sequel? Ellie was ruined back when the DLC came out several years ago because they made her a lesbo!"

Maybe, just maybe, your customers aren't bigots, Naughty Dog. We just think your product sucks. And we think the lesbo and her "dad" deserved a lot better.
