you didn't realize Dick was a hypocritical scumbag? He's known for a book called "Men are better than women" and he is as satirical about his views as the guys over on TDS. if you listen to hi early episodes compared to now, you can see him shift and pander more towards the Killstream Krowd too. Dick was laughing at guys who got banned from twitter,paypal,etc on an early episode with his friend that worked for Cinema Sins. Back when he still was connected with that world he was a lot more willing to say drop dead to the Rands & Ralph type people. Before UCB and Cinema Sins and his black and gay friends turned their backs on him he was much different. He stopped using bad language because some caller was offended, he ranted about these vulture type dudes who steal yo girl when it happened to one of his friends. he's always been a hypocrite and scumbag.
Dick is extremely similar to baked Alaska. They both were in liberal areas and wanted to be the token conservative. They wanted to be the Ron Swanson to their gaggle of liberal friends. They probably thought it would be like the 2000s with Bush where especially in the early years, the conservatives were mocked but it was all in good fun and they still had conservative comedians in the main stream and were invited on shows and all that. Baked didn't have a paetreon and was chasing that fame and money so thats why he was way more exceptional with his antics. but both didn't realize how quickly they would be turned on. And let me be clear, as far as the LA comedy scene is concerned. Dick is basically a west coast Owen Benjamin. Owen fucked off to NY and Dick moved out of his hollywood apartment to live much further out once he got blacklisted from UCB and everyone else,
The reason Dick hasn't become as much of a laughing stock as Baked is mainly because Dick is older and built a pretty solid group of trusted friends and associates and had an income and day job and savings to fall back on to keep him from pulling exceptional moves. Dick being a libertarian when it comes to fucking women shouldn't surprise you considering how much of an obnoxious libertarian he is in other regards, even whatever "pet the dog" traits he has are just as bullshit as his views on censorship or homewreckers. That fucking nephew of his would basically be treated like Maddox jr if he ever did anything to piss Dick off. Dick's relationship with Asteros was one of the strongest he ever had in life, and a big reason he didn't cut Asteros off sooner is Dick feeling a slight bit of empathy for Asteros' shitty situation, Asteros was on the verge of suicide a decade ago until The Biggest Problem podcast existed.
Dick is a perfect example of a libertarian, he's fucking fontaine to a T. Dick is the reason for the laws, because he's an expert at using what little power he does have to get a cult of wimps around him to use for his own delight and gain, why the fuck else would he have fat dumbies like Asteros, KiwiChris, Monkey, or Ralph if it wasn't for entertainment. I'm sure he was doing the same shit back in college. The difference being people expect this sort of libertine attitude towards others when you're a teenager. And i'm sure if his family never made it up past the border, he would be stealing senoritas from the local middle school and having fat idiots like ethan and gator praising him there too. I can easily see him being a post-apocalyptic lord having a bunch of simps like Ethan doing his bidding and being tortured for his amusement and then promptly killed off if they get caught doing the wrong thing.
And when you force Dick on a semi-even playing field like at UCB, he's about as funny as he was during his roast. I remember being forced to go to that nerd debate UCB thing he was absurdly dedicated to in his comedy days. outside of him still listing his Dr.Phil appearance about a decade afterwards as some huge high profile gig, he was pretty forgettable, If he didn't plug his appearance at the end of each episode during the early dick ones, you would be surprised to know he was a part of those. When he's not in control of the environment his comedy falls flat and when compared to actual comedians its pretty apparent how bad he is at this.
but it really shouldn't come as a surprise that he would do this, or that there isn't any drama from this. The best you'll get is those Metokur jokes, which probably hurt Dick more than some other dumbass sperging about goss. And like everyone here said,JESSE, you don't step into the killstream and then bitch out if you have some shit to say, say it. and make sure to have an answer to every question because its dissertation time motherfucker. Boogie handled it well when he came on after getting streamsniped. and that was a much spiceyer audience that was more willing to put his feet to the fire. This jesse guy is pretending to be an oldfag but couldn't answer the most basic questions.
Another big reason Dick is basically immune from criticism is because of dumbasses like this that try to attack him and then shit themselves when confronted. Same with Metokur; if everyone that attacks you is a dumb sperg, its hard for people to not automatically side with you when some annoying Fggot starts tweeting you and doing that screencap nonsense. Ethan was right to kick him, he was brought on with the expectation that he would be attacking the guy he spent all day tweeting and instead he just used that as a way to attack Dick, it felt like in some shitty fantasy-setting when the peasant infiltrates the defenses to attack the big bad only to be completely fucking useless once he does. this entire JLH arc concept is absurd, we have to take a spurned lover at her word, and we also have to assume Dick's current gf, a woman in her 40s, doesn't have enough agency to leave Dick if he's only in it for spite. If you believe the world acts like the shittiest fiction of the 90s with clear good and evil sides and dumb shit like that, then it makes sense, but if you live in reality its dumb as shit.
TL;DR the goss was always stupid, it was a waste of time bringing him on rate autistic
