Considering MovieBob's shit at banter, I would expect anyone not exceptional themselves to roll over him. But Mauler's just as shit at banter, it's like seeing two autistic kids try to one-up each other. But is this really what Mauler does nowadays? Shit talking everyone and anyone for any joke or minor passive aggression at his expense? Covering people on 4-10 hour live streams because of their opinions?
It's insane that it's been one whole year since he released a full critique video, did he not write all of this in advance? Is getting into gay Twitter drama and doing EFAP really taking that much time off of editing for it?

The script has been complete for almost two years. MauLer has no incentive to finish when his fans fund his Twitter drama and war against everyone who thinks differently.

I was half listening to their latest EFAP on Joker and it's so frustrating to listen to them, I don't know if I can take much more.
Their format is collapsing in on itself.
They need to refute absolutely everything that the other parson is saying, they can't admit that CinemaSins can be right about something.
For example, CS said that comedy clubs in 1981 didn't film open mic nights. That is correct. They rarely even filmed the big names you had to pay to see.
Yet, these fuckers laughed at CS for saying that and pulled stuff out of their asses to prove him wrong.
They kept asking how does CS know that this wouldn't happen and, at a certain point, I just shouted:
"BECAUSE IT'S 1981, YOU FUCKING MORONS!!!"
And I don't even like CS.

I wonder what Mauler will be doing in a year. Part of the reason I continue to observe him is that I'm hoping he will have a spectacular entertaining fall from grace. But he'll probably linger like a light cold that lasts for a month and a half, holding onto relevance for dear life with his band of friends for years possibly with each leaving the internet one by one due to lack of interest or scandals. When mauler starts pulling in less views his associates will probably stop paying lip service to him and start being fed up with him and turn on him (they will definitely start being fed up with Rags). Personally I hope someone he respects (probably RLM) puts him in his place and makes him reconsider himself, but I doubt he really respects anyone.

He was basically borderline asshurt when Mike indirectly referenced him as a Plinkett rip-off. And when I say "indirectly" I mean, he flashed a screenshot of YouTube results for longform video essays on the Last Jedi in his review and his video happened to be on it.

If they got massive push back from just shit-talking Jenny and Avatar, then the push back for shit-talking Mike and Jay would be unbelievable. There's already a massive crossover of fans between the two which would alienate them.
I can't imagine what Mauler would do to retaliate other than target their content, Mike, Rich and Jay are bros that shoot the shit about movies and get drunk.

I'm going with unmotivated because MauLer has no problem with releasing his other videos on time. His April Fool's Day videos came out right on schedule.

It's hard to be motivated about dedicating over 15 hours to a dead horse topic. His only motivation would be a potential loss in donations and that's not happening with his fanbase. MauLer had a big drop-off at the beginning of the month, but he's almost back to where he was in March.

Yeah, it's not like MauLer is KaptainKristian or GameMakersToolKit and his videos involve a whole bunch of visual editing. He basically just plays star wars clips that have mild relation tonally or contextually to what he's talking about, so the video editing part is super light compared to many other creators.

The biggest piece of work for him is the script and voiceover, and the former should have been finished based on statements he made on Patreon and in his TFA part 1 video.

Also 'I have always had a podcast going...' line kills me. Like, did you always have a 3-12 hr weekly podcast going before?

Just because it features a collection of fedora tippers, children, and contrarian hipsters that all pretend to be intellectuals by using "academic language" to defend their big budget hamburger movies.
They also seem to constantly describe Mauler or the EFAP podcast with holy reverence (I already talked here about how there was a reddit post from a fan on how the hate against Mauler could be described as a "persecution") and then suddenly get passive aggressive when called out thus creating a hundred reply comment chain that's just semantic arguments on subjectivity vs objectivity.
Showing Mauler's take on the topic has actually regressed the argument back tenfold rather than improve it even slightly.

This excuse though is dogshit. It shouldn't have taken a year for Mauler to have edited a 2-4 hour review, especially with the resources he has. And then what happens when he releases it? Is it going to take another year for the next part to come out? It'd make sense if he edited them all at once but he's doing them in order, this shouldn't take so long to release one part.

There's a slavish devolution to the concept of "Objective art" that apparently only Mauler is able to dictate and comment on. Like he's some prophet just because he pointed out basic bitch nitpicks in the Last Jedi, he's suddenly this profound intellectual on the subject of art despite lacking both media literacy and education. I know he has supposedly a "degree in visual art" but that's not the same as explicitly learning film.

Pretty much this. Mauler took too long with the Game of Thrones videos, and now the Force Awakens anayalsis is dead in the water. There's almost no point in continuing the sequel trilogy hate train now that Rise of Skywalker is out, and is almost universaly disliked.

I echo a lot of the sentiments here of how Mauler might be on a slow decline since EFAP seems to be a bigger priority than his videos. Both of his golden gooses of Marvel and Star Wars are basically over, and it's going to be awhile before he can attack the new movies because of the Wu Flu. EFAP is also becoming too bloated and circle jerky for it's own good, and Maulers going to have to either start clipping parts out into their own videos or make seperate podcasts for topucs like games and memes.

I'll be suprised if he's going to be able to keep doing this in a few years at the rate he's going.

I just want to say that MauLer's arguing about taking a lot of time for editing is complete bullshit when compared with a video like this:

That is 80 minutes long, need dozens of hours of gameplay to get clip (with notoriously unreliable screen capture technology), with cameos and brand new material. Compare that to cutting off portions of films (which autists like MauLer probably already have every clip they need already prepared to use).

So the most recent EFAP, #84, was an absolute clusterfuck. It was a debate with the topic mainly being: "Are the Prequels well written?". It went as well as you can expect.

For a rough TL;DR on what happened: There were two sides, Stich and Glib, who were against the Prequels, and Anomaly and Rick, who were arguing in favor of them, and Mauler and Rags were the moderators of the debate. Now, if you have ever seen any of their previous debates or debates moderated by Mauler and Rags, you already know they are absolutely shit at these.

And that's roughly the first hour or so. I honestly stopped watching after that because of the sheer amount of autism, but apparently the rest of the "debate" was like that (I recommend reading through the comments on this one), with Mauler and Rags being the usual godawful moderators, and allowing insults and interruptions to constantly occur. Many are already calling this one of, if not, the worst EFAP so far, with many putting a good bit of blame on Mauler and Rags for letting it get out of hand.

Another thing I'd like to bring up which is something not too many have talked about yet, but it's how much of a trash heap their Discord is, mainly due to their moderators. Anytime a channel (mainly efap-podcast-talk) gets ever so slightly active or debates occur, you can expect every mod to come in telling everybody to stop being "uncivil" and putting it into a longer slowmode (during EFAP #84, the channel was put into a whopping 60 second slowmode, despite no real shit talking or "incivility" happening). I feel like this YouTube comment here is a good example of the kind of stuff you see in the Discord.



Seems many have gotten sick of Mauler letting all this slide, and ever since that Avatar debacle, many are starting to notice and criticize the way he runs EFAP and the Discord, along with his behavior and his points in general. 2020 is not looking too good for Mauler and friends.
