Sony is functionally re.t.arded if they let him stay and continue to do his own thing. There's no two ways about this. Ultimately, he wanted it to be 'his', so staffing decisions were entirely his own. This means he is responsible for the leak. Shit rolls downhill. He wanted independence, so the security and everything was on him. If he mistreated his staff so badly that the entire game got leaked, that is his fault as well. Sony is not going to take it in the ass for him.

They will defend him now, but they now the terrible reaction is basically going to crater sales. Believe me, if the game was good, this would just generate hype and be forgotten about. Which is why it was leaked. The leaker knew the audience would loathe the direction it took and would kill it. So again, its Druckman's fault for fucking abysmal creative decisions, We're just talking like a 0/100 scale here. A massive failure of unprecedented proportions of fucking up your audience. Fighting a beloved character? People will just rather straight up lose the game than do that. Nobody is attached to her, and plenty of people are going to resent you forcing to play as her.

1 is most likely. He's entirely responsible for this disaster. Even if the game leaked, if it was good, Sony might send out some DMCAs, but give up after awhile as it saw the hype train build. All game direction, I imagine, would have to be consulted with Sony themselves. Sony will assume total control. They will grab him by the throat so hard he'll think he was Ellie getting choke slammed by a tranny. That's how shit typically rolls when you fuckup this badly, this publicly. Maybe they'll make him like Kojima, put him in a small windowless room and lock the door, while all his people are axed and Sony brings in all of its people. All he's there for is to sign things and put his name on things. I think if they keep him, they use him as an example to other devs and make his life a living hell so he quits. You'll never be able to trust a Sony product ever again, because they let their devs just do anything they want with their IPs. (Like, if you could before).

3 is least likely or most likely depending on sales. 6-7 years is a HUGE time and money investment. If it craters, if it continues to be even more memeable, then the studio is done. Name recognition and brand is important. If one game levels that brand to the ground, it no longer has any worth. So this will depend on how successful it is.

In general, I don't think Druckman comes out of this unscathed. He took nearly a decade, vast amounts of money, only to get it leaked, and the game is terrible. You really can't walk away smelling like roses. If Sony is really weak, they will lose massive amounts of face and just accept the humiliation Druckman fostered on him. And you know how the Japanese are when they get humiliated.

That being said, I say there's a 10% chance Sony is going to be a weak little bitch and let him off with a warning or an insignificant pay cut and not interfere.
