I'm still waiting for someone to get Mike Tyson to talk shit to Phil about what he said about being able to out maneuver him. I think I could get a laugh out of that.

Never gonna happen. It'd be comically easy even for someone like Phil to say this constitutes harassment.

I don't get dePhil. Evo being online is a blessing, he can participate and generate hype for his stream without something clownish like a special vest. He could do an Evo training stream and have his paypiggies donate to fight him in matches. He could get more viewers out of it. He's perfectly willing to get bodied by random scrubs online, so why is he too fragile to do Evo? Nobody's going to hold it against him if he loses to the best players in the world.

Even his excuse makes no sense. "ONLINE LAG NO WAY DOOD WASTE OF TIME" but he always plays online. Any regular person who didn't feel up to it would have no shame in saying "Evo? Nah, I'm way out of practice" but he's already crying online khambos and making excuses why he lost before it's even begun.

It's as if he believes his audience sees him as some kind of fighting game god, and the spell would be broken if they saw him lose on a world stage. Or it's a subconscious part of his brain trying to protect him because if he found out he wasn't the best at SF2 he'd lose his identity and hit the gin harder than when Leanna left.

So according to Phil, this year's online Evo will be pointless as it will be full of dropped frames and lag, which he can easily recognise. So I assume all the key members of the FGC, who will be experts in spotting such things, will be validating Phil's concerns?
hes already said that all the competitors will just be using online tactics that will never work offline. this fucker is so delusional.

It's his paranoia of his detractors would be my guess. Dude has gotten so bad over the last few years about being hermit with no human interaction. A online fighting tournament has too many unknowns, he has to be able to control all the variables before interacting with anyone now. In his mind the detractors would be able to troll him somehow.

I noticed recently Phil has been talking more often about Twitch’s rules when it comes to bits not being allowed to have any monetary value and that he always follows those rules. But then.... how can there be a tie between top tipper and top cheerer back during his Pokémon streams? Almost as if Darksy doesn’t give a fuck about twitch rules.

Phil watched Anony's vest reward video during his extended prestream bathroom break and announced that he would show it tonight. Why tonight and not right now? Because he has to "build hype for the video". So we need to build hype for the reward video for the achievement that was hit 10 days ago. Further, Phil himself has pointed out that there are some people who can only make one stream, so now they miss out despite being 50% responsible for this farce.

But the real funny thing here? Anony told him it was ready during the prestream and Phil made sure to watch it on his break.
He thought there was a good chance Anony was going to troll him, guaranteed. He had to make sure it didn't end with an AEG logo, Tevin's face or clips of Nancy.

Anyway, get hyped for tonight, I guess. We get to see the video with our weekly Minecraft day-off-grocery-money begging while there is a reminder that he made $6300 in tips floating above him.

Phil's right that competitive online has added tricks and difficulties to succeed. He's just salty about it because it's his stupid gimmick.

We know it's all explained with one word: Asians.

You'd be dead of alcohol poisoning if you made a drinking game out of how many times he'd say in 30 minutes "totally wouldn't work offline dood".

It's like all they do all day is play dood it still amazes me how I was able to be competitive with them *snort*. No not really he only played them at their worst or not at all Phil's just a typical sealclubber that can't adapt on the fly and didn't keep up with meta.

I would really like him to explain how he justifies training and adapting on the shitty SSF2T port that he won 4th on, and said everyone else could have trained like him vs. refusing to play online because it wouldn't be like the real thing.

Let's be honest, would he even qualify for the tournament?

I know nothing about fighting games but he doesn't seem like he's great at them.

Tbh Phil is below average on his best day; reflexes, adaptability, critical thinking, creativity, he lacks all of these. Anybody with average skills and above can clean his ass up. I'm thinking he's still butthurt about all those money matches he lost back in the day. I heard he used to be what one would call a "walking ATM"...

Doesn't Phil only play in casual unranked lobbies these days? And he still loses a lot with obvious flaws.

I don't know if he'd be considered competitive in fighting games 15-20 years ago, it seems like it was only a small group of dudes that were willing to waste lots of money traveling everywhere. Phil never placed highly in these events, except for the 4th which we all know about.

I can imagine that a big part of going attending physical tournaments "back in the day" was just having the money (or credit cards) to go. No skill involved.
