I would really like him to explain how he justifies training and adapting on the shitty SSF2T port that he won 4th on, and said everyone else could have trained like him vs. refusing to play online because it wouldn't be like the real thing.

If I recall the lore correctly, Phil didn't even go to Evo to play Street Fighter. He went to compete in Capcom Vs. Marvel. When he saw that most of the big SF players were boycotting that year's tourney because of the shitty port, he found some dude with a copy and stayed up all night learning how to use the broken Vega character.

He didn't invest a lot of time learning the complexities, the match ups, the timing etc. He learned one cheap trick and used that to get 4th place.

He literally used a gimmick that does not work in the "real" game to win. Now all he does is complain that people use gimmicks that don't work in the real game to win.

Phil watched Anony's vest reward video during his extended prestream bathroom break and announced that he would show it tonight. Why tonight and not right now? Because he has to "build hype for the video". So we need to build hype for the reward video for the achievement that was hit 10 days ago. Further, Phil himself has pointed out that there are some people who can only make one stream, so now they miss out despite being 50% responsible for this farce.

But the real funny thing here? Anony told him it was ready during the prestream and Phil made sure to watch it on his break.
He thought there was a good chance Anony was going to troll him, guaranteed. He had to make sure it didn't end with an AEG logo, Tevin's face or clips of Nancy.

Anyway, get hyped for tonight, I guess. We get to see the video with our weekly Minecraft day-off-grocery-money begging while there is a reminder that he made $6300 in tips floating above him.

If the video was shared with Dave via an unlisted youtube video link, is there anyway that it could be changed before Dave is supposed to premier it without him noticing? I've uploaded stuff to youtube but I don't know if there's a way to change the video file after the fact.

So according to Phil, this year's online Evo will be pointless as it will be full of dropped frames and lag, which he can easily recognise. So I assume all the key members of the FGC, who will be experts in spotting such things, will be validating Phil's concerns?

Yes they will and if they don't, they're shilling. Which wouldn't be anything new given Crapcoms record.

Games like Killer Bitchstinct, Skullgirls and others have actually decent netcode.

The biggest ones, like Tekken 7 and Street Fighter V are ABSOLUTELY atrocious netcode-wise. This is something that has been acknowledged FOR YEARS in the FGC is that Japanese devs give no fucks in terms of netcode and only now is Guilty Gear implementing rollback netcode due to a huge backlash from their western audience.

EVO is gonna be an absolute trainwreck and everybody knows it. But man I would love for DSP to signup for some SF2T side tournament and get absolutely destroyed by Choi or Cole.

Let's be honest, would he even qualify for the tournament?

I know nothing about fighting games but he doesn't seem like he's great at them.

All FGC tournaments outside certain ones, like Redbull Kumite or ELEAGUE are open entry. You just pay the fee like everybody does.

That's why EVO is so good. Because you get to see big names drown in pools versus nobodies. Or people opening USFIV EVO by perfecting a kid and popping off on him.
