Slightly OT: I'm kind of disappointed more people (YTers specifically) haven't come out against Ian and Anisa. There have been little hush-hush rumors for a long time, but recently enough, both Creepshow Art and Gamerfrommars confirmed that some people have issues with them. At least enough to warn others off talking about their drama while both are pretty disliked behind the scenes. Between bullying an obvious troll minor, flaggotry, and just acting awful overall, you'd think someone in the community would have a bit more to say about them.
I think you're 100% right, but it's a bit of a shame. How quickly would anyone else have been called out for doing the same stuff by the exact same people defending them now? I can accept the "why" of this whole thing being because people don't want to slap fight him and take a hit for doing so. It's still nonsensical to me to put him on the pedestal and give either of them passes like they've been given, especially if people are starting to hint that they aren't great people to begin with. I think they showed enough of their colors, especially and almost surprisingly Ian, to warrant a little more criticism than what they got. The opportunity to step up was missed though, imo.
