Brianna Wu / John Walker Flynt - "Biggest Victim of Gamergate," Failed Game Developer, Failed Congressional Candidate

Gee up to half of biotech consists on non-Americans, I wonder what kind of immigration policies led to that kind of statistic.

Modern household refrigerators operate on R134a. Freon hasn't been used in them for over 25 years.

The more you Engineer Wu [doesn't] know...

I think John is just trying to be discreet
The problem isn't the refrigerant. EngineerWu has a universal certification issued by the UN in recognition of Revolution 60 bringing engineering out of the dark ages.
The problem is, if he orders a rebuild kit, the manufacturer always bugs John to GIVE masterclasses on their equipment. He can't COVID- risk those lives

John's simpleminded and childish assertion that many scientists have two Ph.D.s and that it's not uncommon for them to also have a J.D. on top of that is an utterly ludicrous idea that comes straight from comic books, TV, and the absolute worst of pulp science fiction, which, along with video games, are John's go-to sources for how things work in the real world. He apparently thinks that Frank goes to work every day and sits in a cubicle between Professor Charles Francis Xavier and Doc Savage.

Doesn't count if the discretionary purchase is a luxury car, a video game, a 3D printer, etc etc etc

Yeah discretionary purchase means luxury purchase and like it's a fridge... find a used one in good shape for free in some places if you just pick it up although you might have trouble taking it home in your luxury sports car. But if you're owning a house and buying 1000s of dollars of frivolities like online microtransactions and bragging about it all the time and then can't muster up a couple hundred for a fridge then you dont deserve what you already have

To be absolutely fair "Freon" has become a generic name for refrigerants even though original freon is just about unobtainium at this point.
Sure, but if theres anything John loves its playing "well akshully" and trying to impress with technical terms regarding anything mechanical or technology related. To be regarded as just another layman is like one of his base fears.

Isn't Frank in-house now?
The ones having the JDs are the patent attys - thats where John got that perspective from
I mean in firm work, it's not uncommon for a biomedical patent atty to have a PhD and a JD
The JD is, of course a requirement. The PhD isn't required, but a lot of them do have it, kind of glass ceiling w/o it.... law is often a second career. So after someone gets their PhD, maybe doesn't want to or gets burned out with doing their own lab in academia, etc it can be a bit of "now what" and go back to school for 3 years...1L they scare you to death, 2L they work you to death, 3L they bore you to death
BUT

1) that's a self-selecting sample, it's a little like saying "many pilots have pilots licenses"

2) a PhD is more time in th saddle, not dissing the achievement, but it is NOT magical and it does not confer some universal scientific wisdom. One thing about it is that it's original research of some kind (your dissertation) and that's really really REALLY narrow. Your research might be on one family of chemicals, or a certain effect in the nervous system, or how these receptor sites mediates appetite - but that's not going to tell you about all the other stuff
and TBH, the day to day of doctoral research can be pretty chill (the panic is getting the grant) - it's extended student life.

3)You know who doesn't have a JD?...Frank

"It's very common for them to have TWO PhDs, post doc work, a law degree and very credible Hugo awards"

"Trump should stop talking shit about China and the corona virus, it hurts the feelings of all the biotech worker I know."

Fuck you East Coast elite! Don't you know that John built his empire out of the junkyards and scrap heaps of the Deep South? He's basically Tony Stark but a feisty young black girl.

I used to really dislike the term "cringe" in its social media use.
But I get it now.
John's tweets are getting harder and harder to read on that basis. The cringe-inducing is literal for me in the last couple of rounds

I find myself just wanting to blurt out "what an asshole" less than halfway through.

I do have a question I'm not clear on : John lists himself as a software engineer in his twitter bio, but the current tweets talk about self-education. Does he have any accredited education or certification in the field?...at all..anything ??
did john ever sit the FE exam?

>almost no education or technical infrastructe
>formal education not available

I guess theres no public schools, libraries, community colleges, technical colleges or university system in Mississippi. Oh wait, he said "almost". So he can say that whatever there was just 'wasn't enough' to teach kids. Nothing like a vague, open to interpretation phrase to cover your ass in twitter slapfights. Nobody weasles like John, not even Gaston.

So which lie are we supposed to believe, that John grew up in abject poverty, or his parents bought him the newest top of the line computers and rare consoles? Because he's claimed both.

Both but not at the same time. They are slides on a slide projector, one moves to give way for the other but they are never displayed at the same time or in the same tweet, unless the operator really messes something up.

Wu is a complete social retard. You can see the workings of the machine behind these tweets. Someone mentions "car" and that causes the "I have a Porsche" synapse to fire, which cascades to a partial activation of the "I grew up a poor black girl in Mississippi" and the "I'm an engineer you know" synapses. Never mind that in the context all of this is totally out of place and comes off very weirdly indeed.

She ends up very pissed off that people are kind of miffed that she displays no empathy for dead people. She was hoping for follow up that let her post pictures of her cars.
