Brianna Wu / John Walker Flynt - "Biggest Victim of Gamergate," Failed Game Developer, Failed Congressional Candidate

Given John's pandemic concerns that run so deep, he dropped out of politics
AND given that he really guns for more mature CEOs
Shouldn't he be gearing up his company and his decades of SW development experience toward bioinformatics or logistics applications instead of toys?

Someone like you presumably.

Just skip to the part where you fuck everything up and buy one off the shelf.

I thought wu was supposed to be a broke everywuman who could only afford a cheap 6000 dollar beater like us working plebs. How does this icon of the lower classes plan to afford a bespoke electric Lotus that starts at 40000 dollars used?

wtf I'm a maoist now

Because it's full of n.iggers, presumably.

His dusty VR computer already have a 8GB 1080(ti?) and the most taxing process for the CPU would be Lightmass and if he's doing everything on one computer that is something you start and then go do something else. If a $300 Ryzen(or his existing CPU) renders it in 200 minutes and the 1000+ bucks i9 renders it in 170 minutes that really doesn't make a difference. The 30 minutes he might save can be used to bitch on the UE forum about Lightmass only using 5-6 cores most of the time because his scene is shit and filled with bsp geometry.

RAM is the most important. Epic says 64GB of RAM is nice, but the usage scenario they have in mind would be something like this.

I have used the UE4 editor on a 2(4) core laptop with a 2GB Geforce GT 740 and it was fine. I don't think Wu will do anything more advanced than what I did so his existing computer is overkill for what he's going to do. Unless he found out that real-time raytracing is one click away, then he needs the RTX so he can become an expert on that.

Yeah. I love it. No matter what hobby or venture or "career move" John is into it always involves spending more of Frank's money. This looks like a promising start though. The last time John wanted to be a game developer it cost Frank almost half a million dollars. Maybe this one will finish him off

Maybe he sees that the asset store is right there in the launcher and Wu is a sucker for micro transactions. Looking at it right now there's a $30 dynamic grass system on the front page, it normally costs $60, how can he not have that? He also needs placeholder models and graphics for his agile scrum prototyping. Frank's bank account then suffers death from a thousand cuts.

I'm not at all surprised by this. Had a feeling he was going to go back to "software engineer" John.

He enjoyed being treated gently by the woke tech press, and found that politics wasn't quite so friendly.

I think John is tired of having to even pretend to deliver and just wants some open ended Big Project to talk about and spend Frank's money on. Expect zero milestones and delieverables from Tech John 2.0.

I also think he's tired of pretending to be a man of the people. He wants to wave around his Porsches and brand new Apple products like a twelve inch cock.

He got a taste of this with Corona-NEET life, and found that it agrees with him. No deadlines, expectations, or promises to pretend to care about. Just pure uncut slovenliness, consumption, and narcissism, something he's been training for his entire life.

John left ole' Miss because as a poor black girl, the other kids were jealous that he got to be the lead on the Challenger launch and tied him to burning cross. John managed to get away, but resulted in him missing the launch window and getting replaced by that white bitch Christa McAuliffe. Having earned several Phds in engineering while still in his mother's womb, John surely would have caught and prevented the issue that caused the explosion. John then sliced off his cock in penance and swore to never return to Mississippi again.

lmao at speccing out an 18-core processor to do "level building" in UE4

definitely going to need to Triple-SLI some Titan RTXes too, plus another one just to run PhysX effects on

would UnrealEd even know what to do with 18 cores out of the box? probably 16 of those are going to sit idle 99% of the time you aren't calculating lighting or whatever

John likes to max out specs, regardless of what he's actually going to do with them. Since he has no idea what he's actually talking about, he just picks big numbers and presses the "buy now!" button.

Some things to expect from our resurrected software engineer:
- Buzzwords out the fucking wazoo
- Lots of hardware purchases for "development" and "testing"
- Some niche angle on games that he thinks will get him coverage
- "As a software engineer and former congressional candidate"
- Nothing will ever be delivered. No demo, no screenshots, nothing.
- Plagiarized "character design" tracings"
- At some point he'll pick a fight with the wrong person who actually knows what they're talking about and get his ass handed to him. He'll proceed to block them and go about his business.

I have a feeling that, while it will never happen, he's hoping to get in on Apple Arcade. Boring low effort indie shit with monthly subscription revenue seems right up John's alley.

John just heard the phrase "18-core processor" somewhere and wants it just because it's a lot of cores. He has no clue whether it would even be useful to him or the performance is something he needs. Much like his "Porches" and his being a "canidate."

Considering the reference machine from the documentation has a six-core processor, I imagine parts of UE4 are built to work off of multiple cores, like lighting or other calculation-intensive processes. It might be written to handle any number of cores you throw at it, but 18 is almost assuredly overkill for pretty much any game dev. It doesn't really matter because John won't be doing any development anyway, so any number of cores is a waste for him. Like I said, John just assumes bigger numbers means betterer computer, which automatically makes him a betterer game dev.

And thus begins the saga of John "Asset Flipper" Flynt.

Let's hope Jim Sterling catches on and decides Wu has fallen low enough on the totem pole to take a swing at him.
