This has been such an amazing shitshow. I'm still not 100% on who leaked it, but I can only applaud the sheer chaos it's brought. If it wasn't an employee, ND looks like shit for crunch and not stopping all the dumb shit Cuckman added to the story. If it was elite haxxors, it just shows that Sony is and will always be their bitch. How many project have hackers ruined for Sony? They lost a ton of money, had their pre-orders cancelled and become this month's biggest laughingstock

I'd feel bad for the people who do the actual gameplay parts if this wasn't just a movie with the occasional interactive segment.

Halo Infinite if it gets a story like TLOU2: Chief gets killed by a transgender brute at the beginning of the game, you then play as that brute and go and beat Arbiter and his pregnant boyfriend up, killing one of them, then you go and actually kill Cortona even though shes proven to be pretty much unkillable, and if you don't like this story you're a bigoted racist sexist transhobe.

Wasn't Halo 4's story awful in this regard? I remember there being a new breed of SPARTANs who were all completely unlikeable. One of them even killed the protag from ODST and faced no ramifications for it

Nah, Halo 4's story wasn't that bad. The worst thing about it was how many books it required to understand the Didact's motivation and backstory.

Also, The Rookie (the protag from ODST) was killed off-screen by a Human Insurrectionist Captain in the book Halo: New Blood.

In my honest opinion, the Spartan IV's issue wasn't that they were overly offensive compared to the Spartan IIs (Master Chief, Blue Team, Jorge, etc.), it was that most of them were too bland. Buck and his squad (not his Halo 5 squad, his original squad he reunites with in Halo: Helljumper) are the exceptions, but they were originally created by Bungie.

When twitch first became big, I remember people would donate to streamers with a message that contained fallout 4 spoilers ("you nuke boston or kill your son", etc), then do a chargeback so the streamer didn't get anything.

Honestly, I've been doing (admittedly, light) research on cordyceps and I'm starting to think Drunkman literally slapped his name on other people's work, specially in the first game.

Spoiler: Cordyceps is messed up yo

Apparently, this thing goes way beyond simply hijacking an ant's brain and making it act weird until it's ready to pop out the corpse; things down to the celular level are played with and chemically fucked with by the fungus and played with so that the organism functions with single-minded, laser focus to spread the infection. Host's fitness level are cranked to the highest possible, and the fungus interferes with it's immune system to make it better; if an ant catches Cordyceps, it basically turns into its equivalent to a Terminator... but y'know, organic instead of a cool, killer robot.

A Cordyceps that adapts to fucking with vertebrates, and humans in particular is unleaded nightmare fuel. As in, I don't think Armored Deathfats were anywere close to the endgame of the fungus, this thing is evil and smart.

Druckmann obviously didn't have any input over this, and it fucking sucks there is a 100% chance whoever had the original idea fucked off and no one will tap that vein.

I had a thought regarding that interview that got posted a few days back with the "What if X was a girl?" character design line. What if Abby's gender got swapped in the name of wokeness immediately after that restructuring that drove out the original writer? Assuming the game was well in production at that time you'd assume some of the motion capture/rigging work would've already been done, and if you've got all those cleaned animations that only work with male physiology, why not just give the new female protagonist male musculature and make her really buff and beefy so they can still use all the mocap/cleanup they've already done? Nobody will notice and it surely won't make her look like a gross tranny in any way or look absolutely terrible in the finished product!

it would be like madcow dissease but the infected cow gets roided up overnight and the muscles burst through the skin and as it rampages it's spreading the infection through fluids. Eventually it burns out all it's energy reserves and dies, that's how the cordyceps works.

There's a ton of hypothetical scenarios where parasitic diseases can wreak havoc on the human body. But anything that causes a sudden and drastic mutation would require the host to consume food in large quantities and a hormonal surge would incur like in puberty but instead of over the course of years it would be all at once. It's one of the reasons why in vertebrates things like that don't really happen, There's so many other systems involved and outside of the odd brain amoeba, most human borne parasites stay in the intestinal tract or bury under the skin.

Having a fungus control the human nervous system is unheard of due to how it's laid out compared to insects. Insects like grasshoppers have their heart pump blood to the back of the body like you would slosh water around and that's what makes it work because bug internals are like water balloons. Humans have things far more compartmentalized with their guts and internal workings.
