What are you playing right now?

Yesterday, I replayed some Hotline Miami. There is something about that game that can give off that cathartic feeling.

Those uber high system requirements that most people claim the game needs are bullshit. The AMD card they claim you need to run the game at the highest settings costs almost 310$ at the moment on Newegg. The one a step below that costs 189$ at the lowest, and my card is three years older than that one. They partnered with AMD when making this game so they obviously wanted to up sales on their beefier cards, although it would have been smarter to be honest with the customers and say you don't need nearly that much power, because then the beefy cards would sell more, considering the fact that they won't be useless for running newer games at higher settings for the next five years (unless virtual reality becomes a thing).

I'm running it at max settings 1600x900 on a single Radeon 6970 card, AMD ASRockPRO motherboard and with 12 gigs of ram, which is way too much RAM for any game, but I do a lot of processes at once on my PC. It already looks like real life at those settings, and I don't even have that good of a monitor (hence the moderate resolution). I do plan on getting a newer video card next month though, just for futureproofing.

Basically, just don't try running it on a laptop or a Mac unless you want your computer to melt.

Kingdom Hearts Re: Chains of Memories

I've never played the GBA game, so this is my first time playing this game.

So far I have some mixed feelings. Especially when it comes to the gameplay. I like the idea and sometimes it's pretty fun. At the same time though, it's pretty difficult to get a grasp on. I'm finding myself getting pretty frustrated a lot of the time because enemies and bosses keep breaking my cards.

Still, I'm having fun learning some of the finer points of the combat and so far, I'm liking the story. Hopefully, this makes certain events in KH2 make more sense.

I found my old copies of Simcity 2k and 3k. Now, which one to install on my laptop?

I just bought Final Fantasy 7 on Steam so I might have a go at it. So far I'm liking the port, and someone mentioned to me it has mods. I also ordered a PS2 controller to PC adaptor but it'll take a week and a bit to get here.

Beyond that Bioshock 2 finally updated to a playable state so I might try slogging through the game's campaign.

I'd go with 2K. I've had such a desire to play this game again recently; it's a classic.

As for my video game progress:

Urgh. I got hit by a game-ending glitch in GTAV. Quite a few gamers complained of similar problems after the last patch--inability to switch characters and unable to start missions. I'm so peeved right now. I was only sitting at 23% game completion, but I only get time to play games a few times a week, so that was already a huge time investment for me. I've restarted the game and gotten to the point where you unlock Michael, but I'm still dreading having to go through all the Freaks missions again. Especially that mission where you do yoga with Michael. I hated that part.

In any event, I got a copy of Injustice for my birthday, and I just cleared the story mode.

Decided to quickly play the final part of Wizardry 8. I love the fact that the series ended without getting any problems compared to other old school series such as Ultima.

Hellgate London.

That game is like Krull. The right amount of fail with the right amount of win. Plus the graphics are amazing for a game from that era, if you ignore the tears and shit from incompatibilities with Win7.

Also, Crysis Warhead. I hadn't played it until just recently and I kind of wish that Psycho acted like he did in Crysis 3 when you played as him so he was more of a... Psycho I guess.

I turn up the testosterone to eleven out by playing The Expendables on my other monitor. That is why PC gaymen is the best gaymen.

Played some Armored Core V, using a heavy weight AC to one shot most enemies in AC battles.
*edit: Forgot to mentioned that I played the Brutal Doom mod. Blowing demons away into chunky red salsa is always fun, especially when you can flip them off in-game.

Still playing Chain of Memories and holy fuck this game is frustrating.

Vexus can go suck a fat one.

Also, I'm getting Disgaea D2 tomorrow, can't wait for that!
