West is more humane on paper because West was born out of Reneissance/Enlightenment, which were superior cultures to any era of Islam. Islam never did particularly well, achieving its greatest heights before 1000 AD. I think it also suffered from liberalism during its height, even allowing women as judges.
Of course, today's West is much more of a medieval shithole than Islam is today. In today's West you can literally replace all the main medieval social tenants with modern ones - therapy is prayer, shrinks are priests, non-liberals heretics, psychiatry leeches (cure for everything etc). If somebody from, say, 715 AD Europe would live in 2015 AD West he'd like and understand it very much once he'd understand what replaced what.

What makes Middle East today superior (not in terms of technology, since West developed vast technology before the pest of feminism) is that people there are still somewhat sane while young Westerners are just human vermin with no brains at all. I've seen this first hand - while I can't stand any Westerners I get along with young Muslims extremely well.
