It was his parents' basement. Or was it an aunt? Not his brother's, though. He never moved as far as I know, but it's likely when his dad died that there was an ownership change in the property he infests. For example, his mom might have moved into an old folks' home and had to sell the house to pay for it, with the condition on the sale that Bob's habitation of the basement be undisturbed (only now he has to pay rent). The matter could probably be resolved by poking into his family's affairs, but no one really seems to want to look into any of them except for his brother, who made himself a target by defending Bob on Twitter.

That's something that's in the air. We know he was living on his own away from his family for a couple of years, but eventually had to come crawling back. Does Bob not understand (yes I know, he never understands) that people don't just revert to rapemurdering cannibals after like a month or two of disruption? He legitimately seems to think that rural communities are out there right now killing everyone around them because they have nothing better to do, when in reality rural areas are probably the least affected by all the lockdowns. There's less things to shut down and less of a need for social distancing since there's fewer people in general. Funny how having your nearest neighbor be hundreds of feet away from you, if not a mile or more, means you have plenty of room to avoid issues.

I do think that problems will arise the longer the shutdowns go on, but not to the extent of a post-apocalyptic hellscape. Bobby should thank his lucky stars that that won't happen, he wouldn't last a day in an actual emergency scenario.
