IIRC a bunch of the major pornsites are owned by the same company (Mindgeek) and they all started pushing it at once. Someone asked Pornhub's PR rep about it in a reddit Q&A thread and she sperged out and called him an anti-semite.

IIRC, most subs constantly condemn it and refer to it as a "hateful, alt-right" sub, yet the admins allow it anyway. Often in default "humor" subreddits they make starterpack memes about /r/unpopularopinion, and it always includes MAGA hats, swastikas, fat white men, Confederate flags, the rainbow flag being crossed out, and Jordan Peterson. Redditards basically say, "HURR HURR, evil scary Nazi RepubliKKKans are fragile white males!"

I've been a lurker on that sub for a few years now. My honest opinion is that it's right-leaning and anti-SJW. Currently on the main page, the popular topics are criticizing fat models, saying Disney's Frozen is overrated, and saying K-Pop is trash:

From what I gathered, the unpopular opinions on that sub reflect legit unpopular opinions on Reddit and Twitter (or most of social media in general). Sure, if you're a sane, rational individual, you'd think a Disney cartoon is dumb and annoying, but all over social media so many basic bitch Millennial girls have a weird boner for Disney characters. As for K-Pop? Sure, it sucks and all (and we can agree with that), but on Twitter you'll get harassed by angry mobs and accused of being racist.
