This has popped up quite a lot of times in the wake of linehan declaring himself the trannyhunter general.

He is obsessed with the idea that him chimping out on twitter against "the icky gamergate nurds who make widdle gurls cry" for a few years legitimately constitutes acts of meritorious heroism in the face of life-threatening horror that have earned him the right to speak for feminism, and which entitle him to the gratitude of all women everywhere, which makes the continued fashionability of troons in the woke left nothing less than a betrayal of him and all he sacrificed during the great gamergate war.

Yes I know how painfully embarrassing and autistic this sounds but seriously this is the narrative he has created.

BTW I would tell you to go and check yourself on his TL..... but while writing out this comment and going to double check some of his old "I DEFENDED WAMMEN FROM GAMERS! HOW DARE YOU DEFY MEEE!" tweets I found out to my immense amusement that he seems to have wiped his fucking TL from all mention of the eternal hashtag save this recent tweet at sarkeesian and a similar whine at peter coffin a few weeks ago.

Feminism is about equality for women. Once you add in the other stuff, you're no longer advocating for women. You don't need to believe any of that shit to be a feminist.

Or, I suppose, you didn't need that shit, but now it's all been wrapped up into feminism - and yet they motte and bailey it so that if you don't agree with any of that then you hate women and fight for their inequality. Then they wonder why so many people, including women, don't like or agree with feminism - because they've (correctly) seen that it's no longer about women.

I don't even understand the point of these blue check marks. If you can just change your name to whatever you want once you have one it kind of defeats the stated purpose: "The blue verified badge on Twitter lets people know that an account of public interest is authentic ".

If it's to give some kind of air of authority to the tards that have them, then surely they should be held to some kind of higher standard than us lowly non-check peons.

Instead, it's the exact opposite. A blue check means preferential treatment, allowing them to get away with shit that the average user would be banned for.

In theory it’s as you say: it verifies someone is actually that person. In reality it is just a status symbol for minor “celebrities”: case in point the same people for years who said ‘it’s not a mark of a special club, it just verifies we’re real people’ got very upset when Richard Spencer joined their Totally Not Special Club.

The subtext of taking it away as punishement has a creepy subtext to it, you're effectively denying the persons indentity. That they are in fact not really them.

Absolutely. TERFs aren’t particularly fond of men (Linehan’s own rhetoric is deeply anti-male) so to see him take front and centre in this whole thing won’t please them at all. At the moment they’re losing so many battles and are so unpopular online they have to take whatever support they can get, but if that changes I imagine he’ll get thrown to the lions very quickly.

God, RationalWiki. I don’t know what happened for that place to get taken over by the SJW crowd but it’s a total farce nowadays. I wonder if there’s any familiar names that can be found on their user list.

As you say though it is fun to watch SJWs suddenly develop an acute bullshit radar the moment someone does something to upset them. Literally none of them had a problem with Graham until they disagreed with him in even the smallest capacity.
