"Current year" terms that piss you off

Anything that Coronavirus-related TV commercials say like:

"In these uncertain/unprecedented times"
"(((Corporation))) is here for you, which is why we're offering <insert money-grabbing scheme here>"
"In this together"
"New normal"

Hell, even the sound of somber piano playing pisses me off now.
With recent commercials, it gets repetitive:

Reactions: The biggest iron
I have a feeling that like much social justice terminology, it originated in a clinical and/or academic setting. It’s useful if you’re a psychologist or psychiatrist describing people that think differently as a whole, but it’s easier to just say someone is schizophrenic, autistic, or OCD rather than using a term that vague. Again, this is just my theory.

Besides that, in social justice circles, that term is usually meant to browbeat others because it’s usually mentioned along with the word “neurotypical”.

Anyway, getting rid of mental institutions was a mistake.
Getting rid of mental asylums is getting rid of zoos.

It's not really the term that bothers me, it's the reaction.

"Retard."

For some reason, this word makes culture-policing lefties fly off the handle on a level roughly equivalent to the word "Nigger," and I don't understand why. They claim use of the word is "ableist" somehow, even though the word is both A: a medical term, and B: a colloquial term that's synonymous with "idiot" or "moron." If my saying of the word "retard" makes you think of the mentally handicapped, that's on you, not me.

Fun story. I once got screamed at on facebook by an admin of some group for calling Neo-Nazi's retards.

She got pissy because I used an 'abelist slur' not because I was mocking Neo-Nazi's. Long story short I was banned and I still use the word retard to this day.

It's both facinating and concerning to me that I know people in my personal and professional life who don't understand or lack the brain capacity to understand that companies who at surface level are appealing to care about you don't beyond how much money that can grift.

When a bank 'celebrates' diversity by decorating ATM's for minority community events it's not because they give a shit about communities beyond getting their money.

"Boomer" and "Karen." They're both fired off by intellectually-bankrupt individuals who automatically dismiss arguments based on who's making them, and it sounds so annoying to hear them constantly repeat them like a retarded budgerigar who thinks they're the smartest fucker on Planet Earth. The use of the word "Karen" as a derogatory term particularly pisses me off because I have a relative named Karen.

One of my cousins is really set on this whole HAES thing and is posting it all over Instagram lately. It wouldn’t be so bad if I didn’t feel like I was being lectured about proper eating habits all the time. For context, she is recovering from an eating disorder, so I feel slightly bad for getting annoyed by this. Today she went on a rant about BMI and said this:
80F16BF9-9064-45FB-ABB6-317BE02E5C75.jpegCAD9F3FA-F070-4C3A-B732-4683EC1AEF08.jpeg
She pretty much discounted the guy that created the BMI equation because he was a mathematician and not a dietician. I’m sorry, but just because someone in a different field comes up with something for other fields doesn’t mean that they’re wrong. I know BMI isn’t entirely accurate anyway, but for at least 95% of people, it gives doctors a good way to check for health problems. Also, BMI is an equation, so it isn’t entirely unrelated to begin with.

Anyway, I’m having complicated feelings because I like my cousin for other aspects, but this stuff is getting really annoying.

"Discourse", used by some Twitter warriors.
The definitios of discourse are:
noun

/ˈdɪskɔːs/
  1. written or spoken communication or debate.
    "the language of political discourse"

verb

/dɪsˈkɔːs/
  1. speak or write authoritatively about a topic.
"she could discourse at great length on the history of Europe"

They use it as a fancy word for their rambling and complete unwillingness to listen to different viewpoints, essentially forcing their opinions down other people's throats. That's not "discourse".

I got myself banned on another message board because of my catchphrase "total sped". Because it's "ableist hatespeech". Yeah, sure.

''Valid''. A fetish for slicing your troon pickle and filling it with silicone and fucking some roadkill while 5 Peruvians are watching is valid now.
''New normal''. Rich corporations and people aren't going to suffer the dystopian effects on this pandemic, so fuck off with that word. Not only we were screwed before this, but after that we are going to suffer a semi-permanent police state and an economic collapse.
''Body positivity''. Fatties took a movement that was wholesome at first and turn them into the shitshow that is now. Gas the fats, skinny war now.

Maybe we need to teach them "Googleshng" since Jake Alley's long-winded Twitter word salads have been come to know by one of his online aliases.

To add something new, I'll offer "progressive" when used to described rebooted shows and franchises that are supposedly better than the original when the reality is they're worse in quality and focus more on SJW talking points than an actual plot or story line.

I stan for my lit friend @Niggernerd.

"It's ok to not be ok" ads that the adcouncil keep showing on TV give me Orwellian-vibes. Same goes for the terms "Social distancing" "#AloneTogether" and "The New Normal.

"Simp" and "Cuck" are starting lose it's weight and are last resorts for unfunny hacks who either have dry humor execution or are just brainless and can't come up with anything original.

Fun fact:

Words like moron, idiot and simpleton originated in eugenics.
