Anyone looking to shut down any sort of speculation on here, in case it'll convince someone to do some digging is a fucking r.etard. This forum is notorious for archiving, doxing, and stalking people that are all lolcow materials. You're playing the game wrong if you get triggered by what you'd call "crackpot theory". The fact of the matter is, in this thread, I'm smelling a bunch of EVSCG lurkers who are pretending to not be drinking the Kool-Aid, but totally lose their shit of something comes up on their beloved cult, even if it's just mere speculation, and then it devolves into personal insults. KF isn't your fucking friend, you don't have control over this forum. Policing people on here isn't going to work, you'll just booted out for being a r.etard, and I'm gonna use the phrase one of the autists here like to use, by "shitting up the threads". I don't fucking see anyone try to shut down speculation in any other threads I visit more than this one so far. If you disagree, then go right ahead, and if you want to correct the statements, then point it to some information you think someone might have missed out. Tribalism reasonings ain't cutting it for me.

That being said, I had some time to look into the Simeti situation a bit more, and from what I gather, Pete might have blown this out of proportion. There's a difference between being fully SWATed and just two cops showing up. It's a hyperbolic statement. That's literally all that's happened here. But to be honest, I'm kind of surprised that the Twitter arguments over this has blown up into threats and autistic slapfighting as it did. I don't think it helps Capn Cummings when he's got folks like "muh truth" JDA and the ever exceptional sped Hut on his team. Even "fake news" Micah Curtis had to give his hot take on this. It also doesn't help that this incident happened a whiiiiile back, so digging it up after a period of time that is extended after the narrative was allowed to sink in isn't going to help the case of the folks trying to blow it open.

If I was Simeti, I'd call it quits and just produce the fucking documents with redacted information to shut it all up, and if he can't, then he's opening himself up to more autistic slapfighting as well as questionable behavior. And that it might be true that he lied about being SWATed, but to be honest, in the overall scheme of things, Peter Simeti lying about being SWATed is something you could easily overlook VS everyone else in CG lying about more fucked up shit and ripping off customers, doxing, and gaslighting them, which is much more egregious.

The Shadow feeds Hut a lot of crazy things, although on one of Preston's more recent videos he claimed the same thing. Preston even included a screenshot of some text relating to a redacted Mathew Lewis. Whether or not this is the same Mathew Lewis as TUG, remains to be seen.

The only people left in CG that allow Teddy Spaghetti to live rent free in their heads are Micah Curtis and Sketch Therapy, neither of which are people you should wish to emulate unless you actually are one of them. If you are one of them, personally I'm hoping you're Sketch.

In general Comicsgate news the SWC brothers just finished streaming about the Peter Simeti question.
I didn't watch it so I'm not sure if there is anything valuable to be learned from it.

The peoples champion also recently did another video on the topic, Anti/OG Comicsgate seems to be going hard on Simeti over this. Personally I wish they had something more verifiable than rumors, speculation and hearsay.

Everybodies favorite best boi Zack, finally got his hands on Mitch Breitweisers Allegiance comics. He had some trouble finding them at Walmart on previous visits. I wonder if he will provide reviews for them or just ignore them since he doesn't like reviewing his friends/associates comics.

Dan Fraga finally hit six figures on his Black Flag campaign, he celebrated by wearing a pink bunny onesie and uploading a video to twitter. According to Fraga the onesie is quote "really quite comfortable", my previous statement of Fraga being the most normal of the bunch may have been premature.

I congratulate Dan nonetheless on joining the six figure club, I personally hope he has better luck than such previous members like Mike S Miller, Doug TenNapel and Mitch Breitweiser.

Other than that its been yet another slow news day in Comicsgate with nothing interesting to report. I hope all Kiwi's are enjoying spending time with their mothers for Mothers Day and making Mama Kiwi feel special on her day.

Edit: I'm not sure why there's such a large gap appearing between my Fraga video and closing remarks, I've tried editing it but nothing seems to fix it. It might have something to do with the videos size, my apologies in advance.

Speaking of Donnie Cates, this video came out yesterday.

At the point this video starts, Chris mentions Cates had a drug addiction problem and, a little later, speculates that Cates is writing so many scripts per month because of his addictive personality.
That would explain a lot for his behavior and him going on an anti-CG spiral would be quite a shitshow.

I love Ya Boi's claim that its easy to steal from Wal-Mart because no one will stop you. No, Zack, its not easy because 1) every square inch of Wal-Mart property is covered in cameras (including the parking lot), and 2) Wal-Mart ALWAYS prosecutes, and NEVER drops the charges. You will probably get out the door with the merchandise, but Wal-Mart will know which car you get into, that car's license plate number and have many high-quality pictures of your face. Expect a summons in the mail shortly after your getaway.

He appears to be starting with 64 pages which is certainly a step up from the CG nobody standard of 48 pages, but an additional 25 bucks for a 24 page supplemental book is insane. I can still buy one volume of any actual manga with over a hundred pages for less than half of what he’s asking.

I liked his first issue, it was packed full of stuff. One of the few books I've gone back to re-read to get all the references and other easter eggs he put in. It was worth more than a regular comic because there was some work put into it. Reminds me of the old 70s superman books where they would throw in a map of superman's house or his fortress of solitude, so you'd spend time reading extra time studying it and made the universe bigger and more real without having to spend more time developing the plot. I like comics that become more than some linear storyline, which is how comics have felt over the last twenty or so years. Everything is some writer's 'run' and gets reset whenever that run is over.

I expect overpriced products from celebrities who make their own standard knock off brands of something that they go on to claim is "highly original and innovative" because they use their clout to fluff it up and the normies eat that shit up. I didn't expect a bunch of nobodies with no clout to get away with overpricing their works though. Kinda makes you wonder how much things are actually worth, objectively. Essentially, from what I can tell, there are good crowdfund books out there that definitely is better than what the mainstream is offering, but if we're being honest, they shouldn't have priced the comics DC and Marvel put out at those prices anyways to begin with. They're worth less than dog shit due to how bad they are, which in effect, should be a tell sign that a lot of these guys in the crowdfunding scene are unproven writers/artists, and they really need to be offering things at a much cheaper rate if they want to sustain growth. Mark it up around $1-$3 more than what the mainstream is offering, but not more. I think the one that I'm willing to look past is Doug Ernst. His book screams quality.

Oof, the first issue was $15 with the same shipping price. That lower pricepoint certainly contributed to its success. Especially considering he doesn't need to pay a colorist. Maybe his margins on the first book were tighter, but if he wants more readers he should make a run of issue 1 available on this campaign.

Jawbreakers is cheaper, with shipping only being 5 bucks domestic, but Zack's only extra is a poster, whereas BMKB included a pinup and 6 full color glossy cards.

I'm asking myself what other hobby item I could buy for $35 now, and that's the biggest problem really.

Liam though fired shots at the "official" Stan Lee impersonator twitter account, and since then has been attacked by a third party video where someone uses a Stan Lee impersonation to denounce Liam for Stan Lee impersonation.

Kickstarter's Comic Outreach Lead Camilla Zhang has confirmed she is among the 40% of people who were laid off by the crowdfunding company this month.

"It breaks my heart to say this will be my last week at Kickstarter," Zhang announced on Twitter. "May 8th marked my second year at the company, and only a day before I found out that I would be among the 40% of staff laid off.
In her two years with the company, Zhang launched the Small Press, Big Ideas initative with SPX, launched the company's first-ever comics anthology, organized free creator headshots at FlameCon, and was part of the comics category's gain of over $15 million in pledges for 2018 and 2019.
Zhang said that the Kickstarter Union, which she is a part of, helped negotiate a severance package for her and those like her including four months pay - and a year of recall rights, "which gives me some hope that I may return to grow and serve the community I love so much."
