Eh, I've been following the Stop the Goodreads Bullies shitfight pretty much since it began, so I'm probably ridiculously biased in favor of their targets anyway (this is the second time they and Anne Rice have gone after Jenny), but I'm willing to cut her some slack in this case.

Let me stress-sigh over all of this. SJWs have become aware of the concept of 'no-platforming' and completely failed to understand what it is and made a colossal arse of it.

Here is how no-platforming works when an individual has views I don't like. I decide not to give them a platform to spread those views. That means I don't allow them to post on MY website or speak at MY events. That's it. What it does NOT fucking mean is that I scream and scream until I am sick and collect as many other people as I can to harass and threaten whoever DOES choose to give this individual a platform for their views. (google Sheila Jeffreys and see how 'no-platform' is being applied to her.)

I have the unqualified right to not listen to anyone I choose, and to not hand them my loudhailer to speak into. I have no fucking right whatsoever to prevent them speaking in any other context. None. This bullshit is not 'no-platforming'. This bullshit is preventing free speech via intimidation and threats, and SJWs, it's the right to free speech that activists of all kinds have relied upon for fucking forever to get their messages out there. You are cutting down the fucking tree whilst we are sitting in the treehouse.

Wait, what? Could you please explain? I'm getting conflicting information about STGRB from what's posted on this forum and what the man said on the Reddit thread. And I found out he may be engaged in some weenery as well.

I think Trout is still very much in the wrong here for siccing her readership on the author's book to get it censored. This reeks of SJW tactics and Rebecca Watson, another prominent SJW, got involved apparently.

Without derailing things too much, STGRB is guilty of the exact thing Jenny did in her callout post. They've attacked authors and reviewers and led campaigns to silence them because they did not like what they were saying. They're hypocrites of the first degree (hiding behind pseudonyms, yet supporting Anne Rice's petition to do away with pseudonyms on Amazon, while encouraging people to use pseudonyms to sign it), and it's common knowledge that the people behind the blog are not, as they claim, a group of concerned readers and reviewers, but one bitter, terrible, self-published author named Melissa Douthit. They have actually been denounced by several legit anti-bullying orgs. And they've been doing this since 2012. I'm not sure the reddit thread you're speaking of, but if it's pro-STGRB, it's likely full of misinformation.

As for Jenny, I don't think what she did is any different than, say, George Takei calling for a boycott of Chik-Fil-A because of their anti-gay stance. But, you, know, I think we can agree to disagree here. :)

The pro-STGRB comments were made by the OP who got dogpiled by Trout and her fans. He posted his thread on KotakuInAction, the subreddit for pro-GamerGate. The media and SJWs have run a successful smear campaign against GamerGate, which has made me painfully aware of their tactics. He may be fishing for sympathy from pro-GGers, but I am inclined to believe that he is innocent in this case despite his questionable behaviour and views.

Sure thing! I've thought about starting a thread on Stop the Goodreads Bullies before, but they're such a narrow focus and there is at least a wiki article's worth of background information you would need to digest to even know what's going on with them that I don't think it would really get much traction here. Just not a good ROI on the amount of work it would take to get it started. XD
 
My sister and I just had an interesting convo, during which a line from Troll 2 came up. That alone should tell you the calibre of SJW she is.

So she confronts me and brings up Ahuviya out of the blue. I ask her what brought that on, and she says she saw this website on my laptop, being I left it open.

She says I am deliberately "misgendering, triggering, and trying to murder a Proud Trans Latina."

I refute her, and here's where the Troll 2 comes in, "You...you!! They're Triggering her! AND NOW THEY'RE TRIGGERING MEEEEEE!!!!!!!"

I just wanted to say one other thing about the Thomas Jefferson book. Yes, Jefferson was generally considered the handsomest Founding Father. But he was still a Founding Father, and who in the name of Almighty Leonard Bearstien has a Founding Fathers fetish? Strike that, a Founding Father boinking a vampire werewolf MILF fetish.
