Absolutely, true enough. Anyone legitmately trying to make a real name for themselves shouldn't pick fights. Your point is very well proven with Anisa herself who was known to start petty slap fights and having that backfire and hurt her reputation.
Ian's own brand at his peak though was built on going for the throat and he came out because it was "justified". If the business itself is criticism, I'm surprised Ian isn't going out the same way he came in because of the name recognition picking a particularly good fight brings. Not to imply I want him to get "cancelled", it's just the order of things in the dramasphere. Talk shit get hit, as far as YT drama goes, and everyone gets theirs in the end.
