STUPID ALERT: After california decides to pass law letting infected prisoners out of prison (supposedly to keep the prison to become an otbreak) the OBVIOUS happens a video is recorded of californian inmates passing around a supposedly infected bottle trying to get infected so they're left out!

The man has a point here. Believe a two-week max lockdown would have worked. The present situation - political, verging on criminal.

Another op-ed in the same vein, a little older.

some news from germany, the lock down is pretty much done, people are grilling everywhere, some people played football in the park, etc.
i doubt merkel will have the political power to keep this up for much longer. we will drop below 10k active cases end of this week or start of next week.

Given that even counting NYC and bloating the death count literally as much as humanly possible they can only get the death count to 1k a day nationwide, there's no excuse for a lockdown anywhere anymore.

20k infected, 800 dead, 16k recovered? Sorry. but the outbreak panic is just done. It makes me wonder how many states have only a handful or zero deaths yesterday.
Most of the rural states have less than 20 deaths total. Hawaii, shockingly, also has less than 20 despite major contact with Asia. This really is not looking like what was projected by the "experts."

About three weeks back we tested everyone in LTCs and started moving positive cases to the hospital.

It was a good move.

No idea why that wasn’t done here and as far as I can tell, it’s not part of the plan even now. Some do get moved to the hospital, but not all. There’s no issue with hospital capacity, so I’m not sure what the decision making process was.

The lockdowns are lifting in my area. Traffic on the road's increased, gas prices are rising again, and fewer people are out walking on the sidewalks compared to a month ago. Masks aren't required by law but they're store policy in many places and Target was selling face masks at the entrance. Some jobs are also handing out disposable masks to employees.

MedCram did a video on N-Acetylcysteine (NAC) . It seems like NAC might reduce the seriousness of COVID infections.
NAC supplements are mostly sold online or at GNC in my area. I wouldn't be surprised if sales shoot up though, sales of Zinc, Vitamin C, and Vitamin D3 have shot up and many local stores are sold out. GNC however has loads in stock and I know they're stocking tons of that.

The worst is France in this, they forbidden the use of hydroxychloroquine, on the pretense it had slight undesirable effect, that have yet to be proven of course, every meds have side effects, but Authorized a forbidden drug suddenly early in February, the Rivotril, to be administrated swiftly on the "suspition" only, not even needing a fucking test, on the sole suspicion of a cold / fever / cough symptoms. Pure fear driven euthanasy. And listen to this :

This drug was forbidden to use especially in case of respiratory issues !! It is actually the most painful , stressful and inhumane way to kill an human being possible that is suffering from any breathing / pulmonary infection !!!

So France forbid hydroxychloroquine, the US media has vilified it (in favor of Big Pharma)--any other countries downplay or forbid the use of it for the virus?

Looking at that nursing home map--NY is less than 20%? Even with Cuomo's genius decision of sending sick patients in their nursing homes?

I'm starting to believe the release of WuFlu wasn't an accident and I've been following this thread since January. Someone convince me otherwise.

Michigan, USA

Governor Whitmer's legal team is supposed to submit their arguments today in the lawsuit brought by the legislature over her alleged overreach of her emergency authority. Oral arguments will be heard Friday, May 15.

U. S. Rep. Paul Mitchell III, (R-The Thumb) has formed a committee to begin work on a petition to change our state-of-emergency laws, with the intent of reducing the governor's authority in future crises. Such a petition would require 340,047 signatures to be collected (Michigan has 7.7 million registered voters). It would be veto-proof if approved by the legislature, and would go on the next general election ballot if denied by them.
I don't plan on posting any articles until something is official.

The saga of the Owosso barber continues. Karl Manke, aged 77, has reopened his barbershop in defiance of Governor Whitmer (D)'s executive orders. Shiawassee County judge Matthew Stewart has refused to sign a temporary restraining order requested by the State Attorney General's office. Governor Whimer says that Mr. Manke is risking his business license.

And now the State is seeking a new court hearing.

Upper Peninsula man Erik Kiilunen has been buying billboards and otherwise advocating for businesses to reopen, with or without Governor Whitmer's approval. Article. Archive.

Another protest in Lansing (the capitol) planned for Thursday, May 14, from 9 to 1.

SHUTDOWN SHOWDOWN
Shelter-in-place order from Tuesday March 24 to Monday April 13. Friday, May 1, Friday, May 15, May 28 May 1, maybe? (archive) (executive order saved on KF) . The Republican-controlled legislature has refused to extend Governor Whitmer's emergency authority. Governor Whitmer insists her emergency orders are all still in effect (Rundown on the laws).
State attorney general Dana Nessel (D) is also leaving enforcement of the stay-at-home order to local discretion until the courts weigh in on it (archive). She has stated Governor Whitmer's orders are valid and are to be enforced (archive). The legislature is not calling for civil disobedience at this time (archive).
The legislature has filed a lawsuit against the governor (archive). The defense must submit arguments by May 12, and oral arguments will be heard May 15 (archive).
State senate leader Mike Shirkey (R) is also supporting a petition drive to change the law. Such a petition would require 340,047 signatures to be collected. It would be veto-proof if approved by the legislature, and would go on the next general election ballot if denied by them (archive 1, archive 2, archive 3).
U. S. Rep Paul Mitchell (R - The Thumb) has filed a lawsuit independently against Governor Whitmer, in federal district court. Link, pdf on KF. He has also founded a committee to work on the petition recommended by Sen. Shirkey.
There have been at least six other lawsuits against portions or the entirety of the shut-down order, in various stages of progress and in various courts (summary of eight lawsuits). However, "all deadlines applicable to the commencement of all civil and probate actions and proceedings" are suspended until the end of the states of emergency and disaster. Executive order, and thus in limbo. (archive).

Breaking the lockdown is a misdemeanor, punishable by $1500 fines and 90 days jail time. (Still valid???) Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D) has stated there will not be a "ramp up" of police enforcement (archive). The attorney general has left it to local law enforcement to close businesses, as her hands are full with price-gougers and con artists (archive).
The police cannot, at present, pull drivers over simply for being out during the shutdown (archive). Multiple sherrifs from the rural north to Detroit suburbs have stated they will not be enforcing parts or the entirety of the order (archive).

OFFICIAL DEATH TOLL

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reviews deaths and adds overlooked cases to the count three days a week: Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Recovery counts are updated on Saturdays.
19 deaths were added today.

MDHHS said:
Regular reviews of death certificate data maintained in Vital Records reporting systems are conducted by MDHHS staff three times per week. As a part of this process, records that identify COVID-19 infection as a contributing factor to death are compared against all laboratory confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Michigan Disease Surveillance System (MDSS). If a death certificate is matched to a confirmed COVID-19 case and that record in the MDSS does not indicate the individual died, the MDSS record is updated to indicate the death and the appropriate local health department is notified. These matched deaths are then included with mortality information posted to the Michigan Coronavirus website.

I was surprised to find Vitamin D in the health food store near me. It's sold out everywhere else. I'll have a look for NAC next time I'm there.

I'm starting to believe the release of WuFlu wasn't an accident and I've been following this thread since January. Someone convince me otherwise.
I don't believe it was some "New World Order" or "FEMA Death Camp" shit; however, I am very partial to the idea that the ChiComs used their assets to knowingly spread this shit in population centers of major rival countries.

You've got to be shitting me. Whoever is imposing this county's house arrest is truly insane, if not an outright criminal. Just a prescription for major pushback. WTF are those unemployed who can't draw unemployment going to do? They are already in dire straits. And the extra $600/week on unemployment benefits is only for 16 weeks.

I don't believe it was some "New World Order" or "FEMA Death Camp" shit; however, I am very partial to the idea that the ChiComs used their assets to knowingly spread this shit in population centers of major rival countries.

I consider the CCP's actions an act of war against the entire world.

So France forbid hydroxychloroquine, the US media has vilified it (in favor of Big Pharma)--any other countries downplay or forbid the use of it for the virus?

Yeah some states in the US have banned it. But that was mostly physicians stockpiling it.

It doesn't work but it's become a conservative shibboleth.

I think ChiCom jannies cleaned it up.Clean it up sha non. Clean it up. sorry wrong thread, the CCP covered up the outbreak in the way the Communist states always try to do. It also doesn't seem impossible that they locked down domestic travel from Wuhan but allowed international travel to try to make sure their rivals, notably the US, got hit as a badly or worse than they did but it's hard to prove malice rather than just a natural desire for Communist states to sweep things under the rug.

Let's hope certain LA-Based comedians don't suffer a break up because of this.

OK, I'll stop now.
