I enjoyed a fair bit of Doug Walker's early stuff, before his wacky antics started to overwhelm the actual film critique. I'm glad to have been introduced to "Titanic: The Animated Film."

I jumped ship around the "spoony sperging about his ex-GF and getting fired from the site" era. Or maybe it was when he started endorsing that shitty public access television show on his site? Anyway, glad I did, this juvenile "humor" isn't for me anymore.

Walkers early material was tolerable but later it got too much "look at this dank meme" type of shit I can't stand.

I sadly don't know how much detail I can give, because it's a lot of "he said/she said"stuff, but from the dealings I had with him, he pretty much is the type who will compliment you and say nice things to your face, but then turn around and make fun of you behind your back. Just petty HS bullcrap.

As a fan of Cinema Snob stuff, yeah that totally sounds legit. Then again I assume you have to be the type to get into petty HS shit to join that kind of site in the first place.

As for Linkara being into transexuals, eh. Would be more respectable if he just manned up and admitted it (if true).

I honestly don't watch Linkara that much, but when I do it's not exactly terrible; it's just not really my type of entertainment. From the things that I've heard, there seem to be worse things that can be found from other CA users and (rabid)fans.

I was thinking about that.. Considering this thread was made in 2013, when Linkara was barely a lolcalf and considering all the crap that happened in the past few years, I'm not surprised this wasn't done sooner. About Half of the producers at CA are at least lolcalf status, and the site its self is a joke. I mean, they have a guy that reviews nothing but Disney World.. Things..

I usually take LordKat's opinion with a grain of salt. Despite Spoony's lolcowishness, Kat is the guy who told him to kill himself during that time when Spoony obviously had severe mental problems and depression issues.

Seriously though, I used to watch Linkara a couple years back because I was just getting into comics and DC Capes in particular, so it catered to my budding interest at the time, and he always struck me as the king of all hypocrites even back when I liked him, and now I find out I was absolutely correct. Seriously, that whole "throw your shemale girlfriend who you swear is a woman to suit your selfish needs under the bus when she actually physically becomes a woman, all the while saying things sternly and monotonously AND GETTING REALLY LOUD AT THE END TO PUNCTUATE HOW MUCH IT PISSES YOU OFF! when women you have never met, nor will you ever meet because they only exist in the pages of a comic book that you buy for like a dollar and a quarter, are objectified is some nested hypocrisy that I cannot even begin to parse.

Linkara having a transexual fetish is only really amusing if he feels ashamed of it, like Dobson's inflation fetish. And coming from a dude who gets sanctimonious about scantily clad superheroines, rape as a plot device, and being a right-wing Christian, it's really, really amusing to me to find this out.

I kind of liked the revelation that Linkara applies the same opinions he spouts in his reviews to real life and basically deals with issues he has with things in the exact same way as in his reviews, right down the the sense of smugness that seems more like a child emulating smugness than actual smugness, it's like if that "A day in the life of Darkside Phil" video was actually true.
