Well to be fair, Lily Peet is actually a pretty major lolcow

Though I find it hilarious that the last straw for this guy is disliking Steven Universe and his intro contains stuff about Enter along with his fetish art.
Lily Peet: (is a pedophile.)
This guy: ...
Lily Peet: "Steven Universe bad."
This guy: rrrrRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Yep and how they spent most of the video going hard in defending Josh Scorcher who really didn't need that much of a defense since he's fine on his own and sperging out about "NOT ALL BRONIES REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"

Holy shit. I just looked through Ryan’s channel and there were three videos that struck me as interesting: a three part rant talking about some MLP youtuber I've never heard of. I’d say it was basic if the videos didn’t combine to be over seven hours long, one of them somehow reaching nearly three and a half hours. There’s Enter, and then there’s this. This is ascension.

I’m surprised and jealous that you’ve never heard of Lily Orchard. Mostly jealous.

Someone's been posting old GA images on the Discord. They were in the voice chat, so I have no context for any of them, but this one stuck out to me just for how much better it looks than the art we're getting now.

I'm guessing this is one of Meghan's artworks; a flashback of the Dunn parents when they were kids. Look at that dynamic lighting, the intelligent camera composition, that shallow focus effect that even smears the outlines in the background. Sure, it's way too overboard for a long-running animated series, but for a one-off short film, this would be gorgeous stuff. If only Meghan stuck around just to draw the storyboards, we could have the pilot finished by 2056 instead of 2102.

Now that I think about it, all of that makes him the perfect editor for Mr. Enter. Knowing what happened to Crimson Mayham, the only people who can work with Enter and his autism is someone even more autistic than him.
When I saw that shit I was wondering why Enter would associate himself with someone who draws mspaint fetish porn. I know the guy has autism but he has to know that having an editor that makes that stuff isn't a great look, yeah?

I think this image is good too, though I'm not that impressed because I know she could have done better.

Meghan is a great artist but I personally don't see the wow factor in her GA artwork. She really shines when she is drawing somewhat realistically in her own style, mimicking a professional artist's style, or doing her school projects.

The detail and shading of the house is rough, but very good. I feel her GA work was not really done with the same attention to detail.

Her style when drawing Enter's crap actually seemed more suited for children's books than animation, which is weird because she was an animation major at SCAD with a minor in drawing and storyboarding (according to her website bio).
summerway_vacation_screenshot_finished_by_missymeghan3_d8ihdir-pre.jpg

Anyway, I think she's good for storyboarding based on her current animation reel, but her style alone back then would not have been acceptable for GA. Being a student at an expensive art school, it made sense that she moved on.

As much as the art style for GA still sucks, I don't think Ava, Fuzzy Pickles, and Kamink are better or worse than what Megan produced. At the end of the day, everyone's potential was limited to Enter's vision, especially Megan.

Enter did specify before that he wanted it to look like a children's book, so that's why this style would have been used. This would look fine for a kid's book, really. It makes me wonder why he didn't have her illustrate the GA "novel", it wouldn't have saved the awful writing and lack of plot, but at least there would be something in it to enjoy.

Really? I didn't know he wanted it in that style. Not sure why he'd want that since he planned on it being animated. I guess that just shows how he doesn't understand the limitations of each medium. Like you don't want complex shading and forms on every character for animation, but it would work fine for illustration. If he allowed her to illustrate the novel, I doubt it would have helped the book much. It's not a picture book so relying on art alone would not amuse even a child.

Enter must have changed his mind on the style some time ago because the art currently looks like this wacky, bright cartoon style but...terrible and not over exaggerated, which sucks for the type of children's cartoon he wants.

I'd compare the current style to something like this below if his art crew actually knew how to exaggerate and color.

Yep, his exact words were "the visual style of the children's storybook come to life", whatever that was supposed to mean.

Well, now I know who Lily Orchard is. I almost want to watch at least the first part of the editor’s rant and go further down the wormhole, but if I do I might go insane. I feel like there’s a lot more to find, and it’s both hilarious and terrifying.

Just read the OP and the latest updates from his thread instead.

It means that Enter fails a being a creative director as well as a writer, but we already knew that.
Asking an artist to work in the style of an artist emulating another sounds like a fucking nightmare, though.

It is.

The definition of emulation is to match or surpass (a person or achievement), typically by imitation.

Plus, that’s really unoriginal and uncreative. You know like, giving an OC a dark past similar to characters like Batman and Spider-Man.

You know that’s my problem with ‘artists’ like Enter. I‘ve met tons of content creators like Enter, both autistic and non-autistic, and they were all talentless, lazy morons. All their ideas revolve around other people’s intellectual properties. Stuff that would make for bad fanfiction.

Like Enter’s Growing Around idea.

Curiosity got the best of me and I went down the wormhole and watched the first part of the editor's video, who I will now be calling Ryan because that's his fucking name. Watched is probably an overstatement, I kept it on while I did other work, and would regularly pause because if I didn't, I would probably go insane. Here's a summary.
  • Ryan has a heavy speech impediment, and this combined with his fast talking style made him damn near impossible to understand. That's probably while I could make progress in what I was doing in the meantime, it was basically white noise.
  • Ryan spends fourteen minutes talking about why some MLP character is good, and proves it by showing clips of him asking people at BronyCon if said character is good
  • Ryan's rantsona is a giantess Little Witch Academia OC. He talks about Little Witch Academia all the fucking time, probably something like every five minutes, making comparisons to it and Lily's situation, or just generally talking about it
  • That's not even the best comparison. At one point he compares Random Pedo Commie Troon #378 to John Hinckley Jr.
  • Lily's pedophilia was mentioned only twice. Steven Universe and MLP are much more important topics, it seems
  • The video is split up into twelve sections, some less than a minute and others over thirty minutes. One of them is called 'gender stance', which is literally nothing but him saying that Lily is brave for coming out as a troon.
  • Oh yeah, Ryan directly mentions that he wants to live in a woman's body.
  • At one point, he mentions that his mom told him that he'd eventually grow out of cartoons. Poor lady.
  • Finally, something about Enter. For a guy who is Mr. Enter's editor (which he repeatedly calls his 'dream job'), he makes a fuckton of editing mistakes. Sometimes there's just seconds of silence, or his audio cuts off too early. The weirdest one I saw is that an entire minute of his footage was just repeated for little reason. Are there editing mistakes like this in Enter's videos too? I haven't cared enough to look.
  • Interestingly, another shitty cartoon reviewer, PhantomStrider, hit him up because he wanted Ryan to edit his videos, too. Standards.
  • Both of these people are idiots. I'd call it A-Logging, but they're both equally exceptional in their own ways and Ryan never threatens death. I'll go with the term 'extreme horseshoe theory' instead. The only difference is one edits well and the other edits for John Enter.
  • Most of this was just stuff I kept in the back of my head, but the one part that got me was when he played a clip where Lily says she likes writing. Ryan then said something like "You like writing stories too? I write stories on my Deviantart about giantesses. You should give information about what you write.", which made me scream internally for some time.
Does Ryan deserve a thread? Maybe. I don't think I'm the one to judge. Personally, I see it as very interesting to think about how someone just as autistic as Enter, if not more, got the editing job, as I'd assume someone who is hired to be an editor for a decently known channel would have some sense of professionalism. But hey, Enter loves wasting his money, and for us, there's nothing wrong with that.

Emulating another style is annoying, but I don't think that's the issue I have with Enter's style request. As an artist, you have your influences and generally learn by copying others styles to learn how they do what they do. For example, I have my own style, but my inspirations (who I learn from) could be John Lasseter (Disney) or Preston Blair (Tom and Jerry).

The problem I believe is that it's pretty vague to just say "draw this in a children's book come to life style". Children's books range in various styles based on the illustrator, and don't all look the same. If he had said, I want this cartoon to look like a specific graphic novel art style, or the cover of this book series, that would have helped the artists have a focus.

I find it absolutely insane that Enter is paying Ryan to edit his videos for him. I understand that having other people edit your crap is like a normal thing youtubers do now, but jesus Enter set your bar a little higher. I've seen the shit he did for nickorama and its just a few random episode chunks randomly arranged while occasionally cutting to specific scenes. Anyone idiot could do that, and you sure as hell don't need a turbosperg, fake-troon, celebate, pedo giantess fucker, footfag brony superautist doing it for you for money. He's playing with a loaded gun associating himself with that guy.

That being said, when you consider the horrific quality of the videos Enter personally edited back in the day, maybe anyone looks good compared to him.
