Star Trek - Space: The Final Frontier

To anyone who suffered through Picard: Is it ever referenced that Icheb was bred specifically to infect the Borg with a pathogen coded into his DNA?

Very appalled to learn that Seven mercy-kills Icheb, especially since he saved her life in Voyager by donating his cortical node.
"where's your cortical node?"

there that's literally the only bit of actual continuity you get with voyager

you never learn if the starfleet did ANYTHING about icheb being kidnapped and harvested for parts

where's chakotay? did he join back up with whatever's left of his tribe that wasn't murderkilled by the dominion for being maquis?

Has anyone noticed the podcast that the actors for Harry Kim and Tom Paris started? I think it's called the Delta flyers. It popped up in my recommendations a while ago.

That's actually really cool. I'll probably jump on board when they get to the Adventures of Captain Proton stuff, that was always the best part of Voyager.

You know, I just had a thought: what if we'd had a straight-up Captain Proton spin-off instead of STD or STP? Just take the "cheesy 50s serial" gimmick and play it either dead fucking straight or just slightly over the top, like the Flash Gordon movie (the one with BRIAN BLESSED, I mean.)

Not only that but at one point she tells RomuLegolas that she has no friends.
A certain EMH must be heartbroken :(

Either that's a drunk post or great bait.

The streamer has given a series order to “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” starring Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Number One and Ethan Peck as Science Officer Spock. The series will follow Pike, Spock, and Number One in the decade before Captain Kirk boarded the U.S.S. Enterprise as they explore new worlds around the galaxy.

“When we said we heard the fans’ outpouring of love for Pike, Number One and Spock when they boarded ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ last season, we meant it,” said Kurtzman.

Nickelodeon is also prepping an animated “Star Trek” kids series.

I haven't listened to it yet but I thought I might check out the first episode to see if there's anything juicy. apparently it is them going through every episode of Voyager and giving behind the scenes information. I can think of a few episodes where that might be interesting, if they're honest.
listened to the first episode the other day. It was cozy, Robert McNeill seems like a total bro - he was very funny and charming, overall seemed like a very likeable guy. Garrett Wang was a bit full of himself tho. He talked for most of the first episode and he wasn't like too uninteresting or anything and you could see that he and McNeill were very good friends, but he didn't have the same easy charm as McNeill. I got the feeling he took the show (and really, showbusiness) just a tad bit too seriously while McNeill was more chill about it. But aside from that, they had some interesting stories about the OG Janeway's actress and how long it actually took to even film the premier of VOY.

Now, I didn't watch STD because I'd rather shove an icepick through both eyes, so I might be wrong, but didn't they just kind of ignore Pike when he showed up? Like, he was brought in for memberberries and then immediately it went back to The Michael Burnham Show?

I shudder to think how they're going to ruin Pike now that they're actually intending on focusing on him. How does Kurtzman keep getting away with this?

Well.... yeah. I mean once you've starred in:

It would probably be VERY hard to take Hollywood seriously.

Nope. He actually stuck around for awhile.

Don't watch STD. Instead watch SFD's reviews of STD and save yourself the headache.

Jake and Nog were friends and did the 7th rule podcast until Aaron's untimely death.

Aaron died?!? I didn't know... Fuck!

Forget the EMH, don't you remember, Chakotay literally died of a broken heart because Seven died on a mission. What a shame they made it back to Earth only for her to dump him(?) and go gay and murder a whole bunch of people.

Seriously, as much as I hate what they did to Picard in that show it's nothing compared to how little they understood Seven.

It's better than that. They brought in Pike only to have Michael Burnham mostly ignore him and even speak over him, undermining his authority. It was kinda insane to see. Kurtzman had no respect for the man, he only wanted to see his waifu-Sue save the day.

It's also a pity since Pike was actually pretty good. The actor did a very good job (kind of like how Urban was one of the only people in the JJ movies who gave a shit about Bones and respected Kelley's characterisation of the man) and you got some nice moments where the show almost started feeling like a Trek series. Frankly, STD should've been about Pike's run as the Captain from the very start. The current show we got is so messy and has no idea what the fuck its even doing, while with Pike you have a super solid foundation and the only thing you needed to do was write some interesting stories. But that is not the Kurtzman way, so here we are. A seperate Pike show (with a terrible nuSpock) isn't going to count for shit since we have that constant reminder of STD - and Michael Burnham - at the back of our minds.

Kurtzman wants "Section 31" as a series, he wants his super secret spy property/Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D show and he will shoe horn whatever the fuck he can to get his way. He will do whatever he can to write that into the show to make it happen, Burnham is literally RiRi Williams of Star Trek and her arc mirrors that same path of exponential Mary Suedom ability. I'm shocked they just don't make Burnham an Admiral and make her run all of Starfleet.

Also, Karl Urban is an underrated actor and deserves way more than he's getting.

The series premiere was written by Akiva Goldsman with the story by Goldsman, Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet. Goldsman, Kurtzman and Lumet will serve as executive producers along with Henry Alonso Myers, Heather Kadin, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth. Aaron Baiers, Akela Cooper and Davy Perez will serve as co-executive producers. The series will be produced by CBS Television Studios, Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment.
So it's going to be garbage.

“This is a dream come true, literally,” said Goldsman. “I have imagined myself on the bridge of the Enterprise since the early 1970s. I’m honored to be a part of this continuing journey along with Alex, Henry and the fine folks at CBS.”
How delusional can these people be. Everyone hates them. Stop this madness!
