I kinda woulda thunk a computer-engineer would realize that leaves the data vulnerable to physical disaster..fire, flood, theft, and so on
What about the old saw - If your data isn't in 3 copies across 2 locations, your data doesn't really exist (in a reliable operations sense they mean)

I mean I get doing a home backup, but since John has groundbreaking videogame royalty free assets and valuable political contacts that number in the fives, tens even.
I would think he'd need to make sure that is never lost.
