Aw dammit, this was shaping up to be something cool. I liked that it was going to make callbacks to 1 and 2.

I just hope the SS1 remake doesn't die. That one's already been going through development hell. This sucks man, System Shock looked like it was primed for a return and it's just not panning out.

The good news is that the engine and base game balance s complete. The bad news is that the content wasn't and apparently the publisher is Starbreeze who are shitheads. That's much more worrying.

Shit, just when I was thinking "Man, I really can't wait for that System Shock remake, SS2 remaster and SS3 to come out; I should do a marathon for System Shock after my Doom one!"...

I'm just hoping this is just bullshit, and it's only a disgruntled employee, but that looks to not be the case.

Poor ol' System Shock can't get a fucking break, huh?

Quick edit: The SS1 remake got another update on it's kickstarter, showing off some baddies and their animations. Also the SS2 remaster is chugging along and is gonna be released soon-ish, and I really like that they're patching up the multiplayer; SS2 is fun as fuck alone, but with 20+ other dudes? Now things get interesting.

Since this happened I've also asked for a refund on System Shock due to the whole System Shock 3 shit. Can't trust either company and besides, System Shock has taken what? Four years to make and was supposed to be released this year and is nowhere near completion. Franchise died after 1999. Best to just get a reshade for it if you want make 1 & 2 look better.

At this point, it's best to do what Thief fans have been doing since the beginning. Make fan missions and fan campaigns. Pretty sure most of SS2's modding community overlaps with Thief 1 and 2's.

System Shock Remake is being done by a different studio.

This can't be said enough, if you wanted system shock 3, go play prey. It's what you want, assuming you don't have a particular attachment to what passed for story in those games.
