The one downside to the whole trashfire was it brought in a lot of new people from all sides in the Trashfire who forgot (or intentionally neglected) the number 1 cardinal rule when joining a forum or a board which is "Lurk Moar" to work out the style, fit and general way discussion is conducted. I don't think Dick was the primary target in the PPP trolling but I do think Dick came off second best in his exchanges. He's a popular podcaster who Ralph latched onto to boost his own career and really didn't know how to effectively handle an out of control IBS autist. Losing that exchange isn't going to hurt Dick, it did however hurt the feelings of people clinging on to Dick (The Killsream personalities) in so far that the person they're trying to ride to success might be perceived as losing in their corner of the internet, sparking them into reacting.
