A teenage girl died after falling from a balcony while she was taking a selfie on holiday.

The girl lost her life when she fell off the balcony of a high-rise apartment in the coastal resort town of Sliema, Malta, multiple news sources report.

Julia Marra, 15, had been at a party in the evening at a local apartment when she fell off the balcony. The teen plunged nearly 50 feet and was certified dead at the scene.

The young Italian girl was taking a photo of herself on the fourth-story balcony when she lost her balance and fell, reports say.

Sources close to the investigation told local news the 15-year-old teen’s death appeared accidental.

A woman who lives in the residential block where it happened said she “heard the screaming” as the young partygoer fell to her untimely end.

Paramedics rushed to the scene and gave first aid to the girl, but she was pronounced dead on site, Times of Malta reports.

The teenager was at a party in an apartment in the Tigne region of Sliema, one of Malta’s wealthiest towns, around 9 pm. The Fort Cambridge apartments are some of the tallest buildings in Malta.

Reportedly the girl stepped onto the balcony and was taking a selfie when she fell.

The 15-year-old was seen sitting on the railing of the high-rise balcony, sources told local media. She was leaning out to photograph herself when she slipped and toppled over the edge.

The teen plunged nearly 50 feet, screaming as she fell. The young Italian girl landed on a concrete floor and died on impact.

It's not uncommon. When I was in middle school there were like a handful of italian/spanish chicks in my graduating class that developed more than the rest of the girls (like double D developed).

females stop growing alot earlyer. they will not realy get taller from graduation on, while males get alot taller in their mid to late teens. same goes for boobs, if you havent grown them till 16/17 you will never grow them-

I know a fair bit about this case, seeing as how I reside here and some personal circumstances. There are some inaccuracies with the article.

Have a younger sibling studying in Malta with me while I work atm. This girl who died was not a girl on holiday at all, but a student who resides was a classmate of my sibling, sat right behind them. She had resided in Malta and schooled there since young. Many of her classmates (not my sibling) were childhood friends of her from young.

The apartment she fell from was not hers or a rented one, it was a friend's (another classmate, let's call them G) for a party. Father of G was not there at the time and who knows what the mother of G was doing, but the police were looking into manslaughter charges against the mother of G for failing to take precautions/be a responsible adult at the time.

According to sibling and multiple other students who knew her and know G, they can confirm she was incredibly intoxicated when she fell. According to them, fairly school smart (for mathematics at least), but also liked to party and had a tendency to do stupid shit when intoxicated (Italian, what do you expect)

Face was smashed badly, had to have a closed casket funeral.

Some things are opening up, slowly. But this family was also rich, so I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't give two shits.

I know that a lot of people were torn up about this. Drunken idiocy aside, it's a fairly small knit community here. They held a memorial where she fell, students, friends, teachers, parents all turned up, a lot were very upset (according to sibling, who attended in spite of me telling them not to bother).
