Imagine being a YouTuber that makes edgy content. The adpocalypses happens and all your content is demonitized. Thankfully, companies like Raycon, NordVPN, and whoever makes Raid Shadow Legends allow you to continue making YouTube videos for a living by giving you money for ad reads.

Then, H3H3 directs his fans to go after G-Fuel because they sponsor Keemstar. This creates a precedent that, if people don't like a YouTuber, they can go after their sponsors and have them dropped.

Keem will be fine, but now there's a group of kids that now know complaining to sponsors works and will use that first when going after a creator they don't like.

I'd be pissed at Ethan.

You're right, that was some insane shit. ProJared went from like 1 million subs to 700,000 in just a few days, and James Charles lost millions overnight for something even stupider.

I don't know if I pay too much attention to YouTube drama, or other people don't pay enough. Like I said, that shit with Tony should have been laid to rest four years ago. A lot of the people pissed at Jared and James were former fans who turned on them when the allegations hit.

This "attack the sponsors" crap is exactly why everyone hated that Matt Watson guy who tried getting YouTube's sponsors pulled which would've hurt YouTubers across the board. These types don't care at all about what's right.

nuclear wasteland isn't really a good description, you would expect cool shit like cannibal gangs going to war or mutants wandering the blasted landscape. youtube is just edging closer to becoming a 100% sanitized spotless white room with a TV that airs celebrity or corporate content 24/7 between 5 minute ads and only has a few channels that are run by disney, Ethan is helping that become a reality.

To Null's earlier point, total channel destruction is the great unknown in all this. What's the subscriber threshold in which Susan feels comfortable in dropping the banhammer outright? We don't know. It's generally assumed PewDiePie would have to shoot somebody in broad daylight before she would even think of laying a finger on him. She'll do it to small channels, for sure. Would she do it to Keem who has over a 5 million subs? I dunno, but I think that's what Ethan is angling for. It's probably the only way he could take out Keem for good.

Ethan is not going to kill Keem just by bleeding out subs. Too many people have tried that shit, with Keem and others, and failed. Even people like Matt and Kraut, who lost subs due to their own genuine faggotry, still have their channels.

Looking into the account it's 2 months old, so unlikely a bad actor on Keemstar's behalf unless they have pre-cognition, it also has a delightfully ironic re-tweet at the top. This lends credence to the fact that she closed her Twitter due to harassment.
