Why? It looks so completely out of place. The worst part is it's not a evolution to Abra, which would be a bit more forgivable, but an evolution for Kadabra who already looks pretty humanoid. Which reminds me:
From reading that story, I don't get why he couldn't just evolve into a Machamp in the first place but okay.

That design looks so wrong on so many levels. You should their Eeveelutions, they do not look healthy.
the “snowflake” on it’s tail looks tacked on and doesn’t flow with the design.

Porygon does not deserve this at all.
No hate to the artist but GODDAMN those kanto dex redesigns are HORRIBLE. They take away the main parts of the Pokemon’s design just to make it less recognisable and more ugly. THEY EVEN DID MY BOY BULBASAUR BADLY.

I kind of get what they were going for, it's actually kind of clever, it's meant to be a virtual pet that gained sentience , instead of a program that gained sentience their issue is the messed with perspective they should have left it a completely flat image,

I was going to initially show some other fake eeveelutions to kind of show people don't really understand how to do them or that eeveelutions are really simple but then I cam across this set and was just kind of awed by how well they caught the original artstyle I mean the shading and coloring is on point, excluding the fighting type though, that ones shit.
While I do still like the current style there was some charm to the old designs we just don't get anymore.

This redesign really confuses me. At first I thought that turning Ghastly into a ghost sperm/tadpole was dumb, but gigantamax Gengar looks vaguely frog-like I guess. That whole idea promptly gets thrown out with Haunter having weird vestigial limbs and Gengar looking like a super early draft for Hoopa.
