Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

It’s ridiculous to me that Mitch apparently didn’t even attempt to work out something where backers at least got the physical version of the first issue shipped to them as part of the campaign.

Considering that he’s been talking up how backers should be getting the full version extremely soon and before all three chapters get released to stores, there could even be a sort of guarantee where “If we can’t get the full book out by the time the second is out, you get that too.”

Of course, they just wanted the money over anything else, so it’s never going to happen like that. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if the full story releases before the crowdfunded hardcover does.

Why not just offer refunds if the money isn't already spent? Wait, I think I answered my own question...

Amazon Description said:
A peaceful alien people...

...are in dire need of a champion.

Two species have shared custody of the Jolan world for centuries, resolving their disputes through trials of combat in the arena. But now, a great prophecy states that an outsider will come and upset the balance of power of the world. The evil Phobos will do anything--including kill--to stop the prophecy from coming true.

Blue Angels pilot, Captain Daniel Sawyer, is the man chosen as the Jolan champion.

Can he save their world... and survive to tell about it?

Fans of Edgar Rice Burrough's John Carter and Green Lantern will love The Cosmic Warrior.

Buy this great comic today!

Can’t you at least come up with something more original than “literally just a cross between those two stories that we outright mention in the description” before shilling here?

Well im not a fan, it was just interesting to note since Johns is the Person who made @FROG into a household name in comics

The other Book is far better. Its the weakest part of its universe, but every comicsgater would sell his soul to the devil for the skill of the people involved.
Just DL'd and read the rest of Olympus and it was okay. The art from Butch Guise was great. The story read pretty much chapter and verse like a zombie movie with typical trope characters and the mythological elements were just okay.

My point is that "just okay" with good art is better than 95% of the mainstream and 98% of ComicsGate.

Sweetcast was supposed to be a "writer" in CG and I backed his book because he marketed those skills. What I got was derivitive and predictable like Johns' work but without any of the craft for story telling. Johns reads like uninspired professional writing while Sweetcast and most everything else I read from CG including CyberFrog and Red Rooster reads like uninspired amateur writing.

Sweetcast has an excuse. He's an amateur just pushing out the best low quality storytelling he can but Mitch and Ethan know better than to pretend they know what they are doing. Mitch fired his writer and rewrote RR and Ethan wrote a mess while he drew it because he thinks he's Jack Kirby or something. Both could have hired competent wordsmiths to improve their books and neither took the craft seriously enough to the detriment of the finished product. Ego got in the way.

TL;DR The latest derivative crap featuring really ugly amateur art from a "writer" who attacks everyone who laughs at his feeble creations. Sniff your own farts somewhere else, Jon of the Rice.

The only CG person who can write better than okay is chuck dixon and he wrote his best books with his insane femenist exgirlfriend...

Its not just Ego, its also realy hard to find the right people-

I wouldn't call Dixon CG anymore than I'd call Sashi CG. You could ask him but I suspect he'd chose not to answer because he doesn't want the drama.

I think Chuck's best stuff is his old Alien Legion stuff with Larry Stroman and his Winterworld stuff but he's a solid story teller all around. I've been meaning to read his Conan run but have yet to get to it.

There are plenty of legit writers out there. Pelligrini is good but Mitch let him go to make Ethan happy. And Ethan knows a tun of writers working and not busy who would probably ghost write for him.

I'm seeing Avatar aliens, Mythic Legions styling, Hal Jordan and John Carter elements. It's not looking greater than the sum of its parts, more like action figure mini-comics, but it is something at least.

So Del Arroz is a sci-fi author first and came on to the idea of comics through Vox Day, is that about right?

No, I've always had a love for comics. I actually took over my LCS when I was 18 and ran it for a couple of years at the beginning of college before it became too much and always had the dream to write my own.

Flying Sparks was the first comic I got made (not scripted, as I have hundreds of scripts), with a really cool concept of doing something different and having a hero and villain's dual perspectives as they're navigating a relationship with each other, and I did so by paying an artist 4 pages a month as I could afford it for several years, which culminated in about 7 issues of the book by around 2015 -- though I had nowhere to sell it nor any idea what to do with it.

In the interim, I got hired by the Deadlands RPG property to write flavor for their card game doomtown, and then that parlayed into working for Star Realms (another card game app) to do their novelization. I got nominated for Dragon Con's Dragon Award for that Star Realms book. Novels seemed to actually pay so I moved in that direction, still hoping to do comics at some point but only once my writing could sustain the cost.

In 2017 I had a huge breakout hit with my steampunk novel, For Steam and Country, which has sold more than 25,000 copies to date. Vox and I started talking seriously about comics in early 2018 when CG was getting big due to my Federalist article exposing Marvel's blacklisting, and I introduced him to my other friend, Chuck Dixon, and they became quite a great pairing for the Alt-Hero universe.

When Alt-Hero was successful, I decided to give it a go and dusted off Flying Sparks, since Vox said he could help with printing and distribution, redid the dialogue with fresh editing since I've gotten so much better at writing over hte years, and put it up as a crowdfund, and then on Amazon. It's actually sold more on Amazon now than the original crowdfund as my book-reading audience has come in.

During the same time, I adapted Richard Fox's dragon award-winning sci-fi series, The Ember War, into a graphic novel along with my Flying Sparks art team.

With those under my belt we've gotten 6 more issues of Flying Sparks done so far (up through volume 4 and a special crossover issue with a VERY cool book I can't announce yet), and I use my crowdfunding funds to make other comics and come out with them monthly, because in order to actually compete with the mainstream industry, we need REGULAR content.

Released are:
Flying Sparks issue 0-9 (or volumes 1-3)
Flying Sparks: The Meta-Man Special
The Ember War issues 1-5
Spectacular Comics #1 (Shorts in the spirit of the old EC Comics)
Clockwork Dancer #1
Dynamite Thor (two issues)
The Cosmic Warrior #1

Finished and going to be released:
RoboToad: Rekt Manlet
Robotoad: Tales from GammaTube Live
Flying Sparks Volume 4 (issues 10-12)
The AI Wars #1
Pistol Whipped #1 (vigilante justice semi-comedy)

In development right now are:
Flying Sparks Volume 5 (issues 13-15)
Flying Sparks Crossover Special
The Cosmic Warrior #2-3
Clockwork Dancer #2-4
Deus Vult (a fantasy crusader series)
Spectacular Comics #2-3
The Elven Princess (a fantasy-romance manga-style graphic novel)
Ayla Rin: Agent of Terra Prime (sci-fi secret agent)
The AI Wars # 2-4
Astromancer: Pisces (Fantasy manga-style)
and an untitled Cowgirl Romance graphic novel in the tradition of Joe Simon and Jack Kirby's romance work.

There's probably more I'm forgetting, but this is why they call me the Hispanic Stan Lee.

And that's not even counting my novels, True Believers!

Excelsior!

Yeah Jon that was another really great post about your comic, but while you're here I think we'd like to know your take on Sashi's assertion that you are the founder of Comicsgate. We would be honored to learn about Comicsgate at the knee of its creator in this thread.

Since she's a Comicsgater and her relevance to the Preston Poulter leaks I'm sharing Sheila Allen's thread again.

I've expanded upon her timeline and highlighted some of her more general craziness. The thread is still very much a work in progress, since there is so much to unpack.

More of an expansion on the existing OP.

SHEILA ALLEN/SHEILA ANN MARTIN/SHEILA ALIENS/REDLEXY/LOLLIPOPDROPPER/SHEILA90028/ELLIS DEE

Conspiracy Theorist, UFO Hunter, MAGApede, Truther, Fandom Menace Member, Comicsgater; Sheila Allen is a carpet bagger of many online movements. Whether or not she actually believes the in things she promotes, or is just grifting off of the respective community remains to be seen. She has been active on Youtube for many years under the Youtube account Sheilaaliens and has since amassed nearly 50K subscribers promoting everything from UFOs, aliens, Seth Rich conspiracies, 5G phone towers, ghosts, human/animal hybrids, glitches in the sky matrix and debunking what she believes are hoaxes.

During the 2016 election she began producing general MAGApede content for the upcoming election focusing on Hilary Clinton and associations of celebrities to the Illuminati. After the 2016 election sometime in 2019 she joined the community known as The Fandom Menace, a lose knit community of content creators who focus on SJW themes in popular culture, most notably Star Wars. Some of these Youtubers include: Geeks and Gamers, World Class Bullshitters, Nerdrotic, Doomcock, Ethan Van Sciver and many others. Sheila produced much similar content focusing on Star Wars, The Fandom Menace, Rian Johnson and even managed to cross cultures by merging her ghost theories with Star Wars with the late Carrie Fisher.

Recently she has joined the online community known as Comicsgate and produces Pro-CG content such as livestreams and whether Ethan VanScivers subscriber numbers are being suppressed on youtube. She is a member of the online group known as Warcampaign, a group of Ethan VanSciver super fans that exist within Comicsgate and a moderator on Ethan's channel.

She recently joined Kiwi Farms (@H0stile) and claimed responsibility for tracking down the incriminating sexual history of Preston Poulter, a critic of Comicsgate.

CONSPIRACY THEORIST

Sheila Allen has been active in the Conspiracy Theorist movement for at least a decade, producing content on youtube under a now deleted account (which we will get into later), twitter and her own website sheilaaliens.net which also is unavailable. The website is available however on the wayback machine and she discusses everything from UFO's, ghosts, aliens etc. The current youtube account she uses was initially her backup since it would appear Sheila has a problem with copyright infringement.

A long twitter argument with the user Gary Prout CGC can be viewed below, I'll spoiler it since it is long and spans over a year.

The TLDR is basically Sheila was uploading and monetizing footage that belonged to Gary Prout without his permission. Gary claims to be an injured veteran and seems nice enough since he states that he offered the footage to other accounts to use, so long as they credited him. Gary however was unimpressed by Sheila's reluctance to answer him in emails so copyright struck her original youtube account, she then spent from Feb 2013 to Jul 2014 begging him to release the claim. During the exchange Sheila admits she receives strikes often from other creators and even Disney, leading me to believe she doesn't understand copyright law. Gary eventually released the claims on her account on the condition that she delete his videos and donate any proceeds raised to Help For Heroes.

Issues with copyright infringement seem to plague Sheila as again later she claims her initial channel was struck.

There is of course the feud she had with another fellow Conspiritard tatoott1009 listed in the OP who reported on her termination as early as 2012

https://beforeitsnews.com/alternative/2012/11/sheilaaliens-has-been-terminated-2499170.html

(More to come this is a work in progress and there is so much)

EDIT:
Added some screenshots and archives I missed in the first draft.

Promoting your shitty over priced indie books makes you look dumb.
Seriously, if I have a problem with @FROG shilling his shit in this thread, then I'm not giving @TheCosmicWarrior a pass either. Not everywhere you go is a chance to barge in and promote your book faggot. And seriously stop pulling a Liam Gray and writing "Dear Diary," responses.

I think he's just trolling. I get a kick out of it. And I think JDA is a cunt.

Still, I had a good laugh.

DA talks is talking about Shiela with Mech.

Mech is beyond exceptional.

Did he just say he's the leader of anti-CG at the end there?!?!?!

Troll-shilling? Meh. It's kinda low-tier.

McCheese here went on Dark Gift's stream and clarified that he's not anti-CG. He doesn't say that he's the leader of anti-CG, he says he's leader material because of his military experience, which I don't doubt. Military men go through a strict discipline, and so, they learn a lot of leadership skills. Don't think he ever said he's the leader of anti-CG.

You mistake my meaning. I didn't mean that he LITERALLY proclaimed himself the leader but he was pumping himself up as "a leader" in the context of a discussion of leading anti-CG. When I hear talk like that I read between the lines. He had no other reason to whip out his "I'm a leader" resume.

As to leadership skills he went on that moron DarkGrifts show presumably to defend his friend Preston and failed at the task miserably. And I mean MISERABLY. The low-IQ CG Z list fucktard panel he was talking to ate his lunch, stole his girl friend and fucked his mom AND MCCheese thanked them for the "honor". I mean he came across like a low self esteem tweener girl at a highschool party the way he cucked to those losers and conceded every point to DarkGift of all people! DarkGift who wears slip on footwear because laces have always been to challenging.

Mecha couldn't lead a prison gang to a piece of tail in a whore house with Elon Musk's debit card in his pudgy little fist.
