Where do you think you are going? Like... You tweeted about Portfolios being hard. Okay. You think you are going to march into an interview with the Stephen Universe execs, have a mediocre portfolio, say "Well, look, I've been through literal hell. People online have been bullying me for a decade. I had a break down in 2012 and I'm just building up again." and they are going to just go "Sir. I sympathize with your struggles. You're just the sort of man we want on our team. We need no evidence that you can perform as to our specifications. YOU'RE HIRED!"

You tweet about your work people criticizing as though they are these frivolous doodles and it's ridiculous that they are taking them seriously.

Then what exactly do you think you are going to impress the Stephen Universe execs with?

I just... Don't get you Dobson. I mean, what is your plan? To be living off of Patreon money making doodles about how omg it's such bullshit that they put guys on the princess leia comic and that's toxic masculinity omg when you are in your sixties?

If you are a young professional who is really gunning for a job at Stephen Universe... Then you are either terribly misguided, Stephen Universe has very low standards, or... I wonder why you hide your quality work so much.

If you are reading this, I am sure you are thinking it's like "Be as NASTY as you want! Then say it's to help you develop."

No. It's not. I'm not trying to help you develop. I'm trying to understand this myself. To understand where you think you are going... I mean... I'm quite serious... Say you had been right on the ball with that Stephen Universe thing... How do you think the interview would have gone?

Do you think they would have gone "Oh you poor man. You are hired because you've had such a tough time." or do you think when they vocalized concerns about weaknesses in your work that they would have accepted "It's just a doodle"?

I don't get you, Dobson. Sure, I don't work in the arts but as a professional, I just don't get you...

Dobby has a lot in common with Chris, he wants things given to him without doing any work for it and thinks that whining will help him get his own way.

Nearly every artist I see online who is seriously looking for a career in animation has an online portfolio but as it is Dobby would have to link them to his Deviantart page where there is a good chance they'd get banned for asking questions.

Meant more the crummy CRT TV (a nice PVM one I could understand) and at first glance thought the Wii U was hooked up via RCA but I guess that could be the PS2.

Dobson's quite soft. I don't think he has the constitution required for a proper artists critique, and he has no desire to acquire it either.

It's stuff like this that shows me he's too far gone. Pablo Piscaco could come back from the dead just to say Tom, why not a darker shade of blue in this picture, I think it would really make the comic batter. He'd go on twitter saying famous artists are trying to suicide bait him and in his own mind that's what happened.

It's blatanly obvious that Dobson thought he would be viral and his career would take off. Even if he wants to work at Disney, he still has to break what he is doing. He has to draw backgrounds, learn different styles, learn different ways of color and paint, and research and look beyond Disney and Cartoon Network. Your aesthetic style comes from what influenced you and your life as a whole. If this is agonizing, he might have to stop for a while and live his life off of Twitter. I recently tried learning how to draw digitally, and decided I won't be able to draw well without better equipment, so I am sticking to traditional until I get strong enough.I can still draw small digital things, but for the most part, large scale projects will be wonky. I also am trying to break my comfort zone. Dobson never experiments or try new things. This is why he will be stagnant until some twist of fate lands him in front of Disney. Even if he wants to be a self sufficient cartoonist, he will not go to the next level.

He's like generations of shitty wannabe musicians who expected an "overnight success," blissfully (or not so blissfully) unaware that in most of those cases, years of effort and practice went in before that "overnight success."

See, I don't care until we get into the "I buy a new computer" and "I give money to other Paetreons" level because at that level, just fucking no. "Give me $7oo monthly and I'll give that money to someone else!"

I'm not some ass going "Curses! Dobson is making money!"

This just means that he is forced to do more than draw a single picture of his character holding a comic book saying "Uhg. That's such bullshit." because Leia Comics have a picture of luke on them.

He actually needs to make a themed wall paper now. Monthly.

To be frank, I want him to get up to $300 (Quick question - I'm no Paetreon expert, but if he passes a milestone and then another, he still needs to stick to the first milestone commitment, yes?)

I want him to be compelled to make a wallpaper every month, a comic page every week and, if he can get around the copyright or just calls it fan art and doesn't try to sell it but just puts the pages on DA or some shit, a Skyrim book.

I want that responsibility forced upon him (Unless he back pedals in which case he'll have some serious egg on that face. If you think "Lol. Infaltion jokes" are bad, just wait until there is a "Remeber that time Dobson took $300 monthly from his fans and didn't do what he said he would with the money?" square on Andrew Dobson thread bingo) because maybe it will make him start to grow up.

I know I make lots of "I'm not trying to help you develop" remakrs because, I'm not. My rants are just me musing and shit. But being forced to deal with shit like deadlines? Yeah. That might help him develop.

Maybe even as an artist. I mean, shit, SnapeSnogger grew up and actually became pretty decent at art, as I understand it. Dobbs can do the same.

And being forced to meet deadlines and follow through on promises like that might help.

Or I can get optimistic voted into oblivion and he'll just not do what he said he would and blame the trolls.
