The cringiest things about gamers

the twitch thot and the sjw menace are two sides of the same fantasy: tfw no gamer gf
Not sure what you mean here honestly, there really has been pushback against sexy women in videogames by people endlessly bitching about sexism and/or misogyny. I don't see where "gamer gfs" fit into it, really. Also twitch thots and other assorted annoying e-skanks not honest enough to be actual whores/pornstars are a general problem with the modern internet, not something specific to gaming.

SJWs use "including women in the hobby" to justify sanitizing everything to be superficially more appealing to women. And devs go along with it because they want more gamers. So that's the industry side of the equation.
Meanwhile twitch thots and e-skanks are more closely associated with gaming than other hobbies. Always cosplaying as gaming girls and streaming themselves playing the newest game. They clearly know gamers are their primary market or are worth catering to in these ways. And people donate to them because they sell a fantasy of faux intimacy and shared experience/interests. It's entirely irrational but that's how it is. Like you say, they're not honest enough to just be a camgirl doing "tricks" for horny men. It's much more disguised than that. The traffic and income they receive is certainly due to their skill at games or anything or else they wouldn't be trying to act cutesy or show cleavage.

So I jokingly refer to them both being the industry wanting gamer gfs because that's kind what's going on and I remember back when I was young other young men pretending they just needed a girl with the same video game hobbies as them to feel complete and happy. Which is also pretty sad and cringey.

They can't just play games as a past time, they have to be a Gaymer(TM) with a bookcase full of figurines and merch, RGB peripherals, misunderstood individual meme folder, racecar chair, energy drinks (for pressing buttons) and those chunky ass headsets.

And this is just the PC sub-race.

The obsession with pushing failed systems to the spotlight. The Dreamcast and the Neo Geo got sucked off for years despite having mediocre libraries compared to their contemporaries. You can cry exclusives all you like, but none of the games on either of those consoles were good enough to be considered system sellers.
That's fair. I'm not one of those people that calls it "the last true console", but there was a certain something about the Dreamcast that was special. Maybe it's graphics, the kind of games it did have, or maybe it's just pure nostalgia. I don't know.

I'm going to guess that feeling comes from consoles failure, because soulless AAA companies aren't going to prioritize making games for a last place console, but there's enough of an install base for devs to do their best to try and be a big fish in a small pond.

You can't blame thots for being thots when simps being simps pay them for it. Blame the simps. They're the ones funding this bullshit.

People who bitch about every minor change in a remake. If it's a huge fundamental difference like drastically modifying the plot for no reason or blatant mechanical issues like glitches and poor gameplay adjustments I can get it, but when you're whining about the music not sounding quite the same or an object not being placed exactly where it was last time then just play the original again if you can and quit being a whiny faggot.

One thing I've always found cringy, that remains to this day, is the absolute fucking obsession gamers have with first person shooting.

When I was in elementary, we had computer lab time and a game we would often get to play was Oregon Trail; a game I still quite enjoy to this day, and I remember so many kids running in there to start it, rushing through everything JUST to get to the hunting screens. Because it was first person shooting.

What is so amazing about shooting a gun in a game where all you can see is the arms? Seriously? Why are these the biggest games?

Is it so dorks can imagine themselves being badasses shooting? I get the pathetic competitive nature of these games, but back in the 90s, the multiplayer aspect didn't exist... and yet kids lost their damn minds over it. To this day, I still cannot fathom the absolute insanity over something so insanely mundane.

It's high-speed point and click, a mouse is ideal for that and very accurate so those types of games worked really well on PC.
Moving through environments becomes rapid spatial navigation, you need to go from wherever you are to a place which can be anywhere on the map so you need to instantly create the best route for that. In fast games like Quake with more complex maps and levels to the environment movement became very creative. Think of it as the player not moving through the level(the screen is stationary after all), instead the player is warping and folding the level like a toy to quickly find(and arrive at) a certain point.
Rinse and repeat.

How is that any different these days from people naming their kids after fictional tv characters like the people who named their kids after the based Dragon Queen in GoT.

I would say as far as achievements go, I view it like a virtual trophy cabinet where if im gonna spend at least 200 hours of my life on this shit, might as well have something to show for it.

I do have questions regarding achievement placements like you get a trophy for doing some super duper hard shit that only 0.0001% care about or online gameplay or a trophy for a simple action like starting a new game or mission or something. I have always viewed trophies as a form of skinners box or something South Park did a great job of explaining when they talked about fremium games.

Anyone who hacks in a game more than a month old is a dick. Anyone who does it in a game like 10 years old has no soul and probably is a epitome of the stereotypical basement dweller fat fuck with garbage everywhere and shit in his underwear living alone. Or a godforsaken Asian cunt.

I personally don't care if someone hacks or cheats in the game they own. They spent the money so they can do whatever they please with their product.

Shit like that is awful, this one was spread around a years ago.
Edit: I got curious and looked into this a bit more. Shit is too common.

Add the Vita to that list. Vita fans are really pathetic as they can't accept the Vita is a failure. Vita fans to this day still beg for ports or localizations for the Vita. It's like they don't want these companies to make a profit.

I agree about the Dreamcast but the Neo Geo was an amazing piece of technology in the mid-90s, it offered a true arcade experience at home and was light years ahead of anything else of the era.

Now I agree with you by the end of the 90s / early 2000s it's style of games had largely fallen out of favor with western audiences but I can't knock a system that lasted from 1990 to 2004.

I think naming your daughter Tifa would be worse, but the type of guy who would do that probably hasn't approached a woman since Bill Clinton has been in office.

Fanboys. Fanboys are scum of the Earth and responsible for the garbage we get because they will buy anything as long as it is part of their favorite series or console. Fanboys are subhuman manbabies that are fucking disgusting.

Exactly this. I don't even know how they make money. Men so desperate for female validation, they'll pay for it.

Neo geo was like 3-4x expensive as the SNES and Genesis.

The stores in America would also never stock it and if they did, only a small selection of games were available.

Tales of Hearts R has yet to be ported to anything and remains a big deal vita exclusive(not only that a gamestop exclusive on top of it). We are getting the Vita Ys game ported to PS4 but we need the PSP games still.

All the vita Cold Steel games got ported to the PS4 and even include all the DLC, and ontop of that you can reach max level by abusing the DLC since the level up DLC self restores after you've used it. Thereby allowing infinite level ups.
