Why Skullgirls and why now?

It's almost a 10 year old game.

It's been making a resurgence over the past few months. Also, this is likely either a response to, or was planned ahead of time to coincide with, their inclusion in EVO.

It could be outdated but his LinkedIn still lists him as Creative Director. He also did work on Indivisible, according to IMDb.
I can find nothing that states he was let go or left for any reason.

Considering that it mentions nothing on his work for Indivisible, it definitely has not been updated.


And for proof, this is from his own discord server. He admits it here. The screencap came from October 2019 but i have no idea whether or not this was from around that time or not. It costs 25 whole ass dollars so I wish I could verify but I'm not paying that much just to figure out something, as much as I love Ahad.

The main thing I think people should remember is that eSports champions tend to skew young. It's possible he'll be 35 and still winning championships, there are definitely older people playing fighting games and winning, but statistically he'll burn out sooner rather than later, especially if his mental state continues to unravel. After that, he'll be a nobody grifting other internet weirdos on patreon.

Perhaps I'm being too optimistic.

Yes, please tell me, someone who has played fighting games of various kinds how I think and feel about fighting games. It's a fucking video game. And even then, the idea that someone does good = they're never bad means that DSP was actually good at Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo despite exploiting a bug in a busted port of the game. It sounds like you don't even know how fighting games operate, so you don't even realize what his play style is and why it makes him a bad player. Once you break him down, SonicFox is so predictable that it's not even funny.

DSP getting 5th place in a busted port is the same as SonicFox winning multiple championships across several games in the correct versions of said games? He's so predictable it's not even funny yet he keeps winning championships left and right across a multitude of games. You're talking about a person who legitimately has 6 EVO championship titles and several world finals titles under his belt and you're going to act as if it's the same as comparing to DSP?

Nobody cares how much you've played fighting games or haven't when you say inane stuff like this, the facts exist and they clearly show that if your thesis that SonicFox is the most predictable player known to mankind then everyone else who plays fighting games, except you apparently, is completely inept for never picking up on it.

Again, his fighting game prowess is unquestionable. Is he the best player ever? I doubt it. Is he unbeatable? Of course not, he loses plenty as well. But he wins more than anyone else in several of the titles he takes or took seriously including the first Injustice and Mortal Kombat X while he's a pretty obvious pick for top 5 in the world for both Skullgirls and Dragon Ball FighterZ.

Raging about the one thing he's actually good at only makes you the a-log, nothing else. I repeat, literally everything else about this clown is outright pathetic. He's so easy to make fun. Trying to diminish the very few accomplishments he actually has isn't needed (it can obviously be very soundly argued that winning at fighting games is also pathetic given the time investment vs. monetary reward/life skills you earn from it, though you clearly aren't going that route).

I have no interest in the FGC because I am not black, have a job and am older than twenty years of age, so I have no strong opinion either way tbh

For me it's less intangible than a "creep" factor. It's more of a "this guy sure spends a lot of intimate IRL time with someone who has been outed as a dogmongler" factor. As friendships go, the stronger ones are going to be those with more common ground.

I find it highly unlikely he doesn't know, given a) he has been friends with Hulex for several years, and b) Sanicfox reads this thread from time to time, so he probably checked out some other threads on this board. In the best possible case he is a sympathiser trying to keep it on the d/l.
