Are there any real cartoons for 7 year olds that actually say the word "gay?" The word shows up three times in the script for Space Age Love Song and it just looks weird in the context of a bunch of children freaking out about a supposed alien invasion.

Depends on context. I mean, you could qualify any cartoon that does a full rendition of "Deck the Halls" because of the "Don we now our gay apparel " verse, but that uses gay in its original meaning of simply being happy and merry, etc.

This is what Enter should be saying though, not his followers. It makes it look like Enter himself doesn't care. If you don't want people "misrepresenting" (it's really not in the case of Growing Around) your show, wouldn't you, as a director, do something about it?

Oh, Enter cares - he's just on the wrong side of things since he explicitly complimented the creepy fetish art.

You know what I mean. It's clearly "gay" as in "homosexual" in Enter's script.

I've seen this type of thing a lot from shitty creators. They'll say something that gets them in hot water, then their fans will come their rescue trying to "explain" it on the person's behalf. If you no longer stand by something you said, YOU need to say something, otherwise most logical people will assume you do.

I said it before, but he really shouldn't have put so many rainbows here, considering gay people just get to stay in this prison forever once they turn 18, and the only way to escape is to lock themselves into an unfulfilling relationship with someone they'll never be attracted to so they can spawn more people to oppress them.

Well thats just more evidence GA is the world of enters dreams, he is supposed to act like a kid when he grows up, He doesn't have to work a job as an adult, and to top it off state mandated GF. Do we know if he's a loveshy or something because this reeks of wanting a world where you're forced to be in a relationship and have kids for any form of freedom.

Do we know what enters relationship with his sisters was like? considering his Femdom/crossdressing fetish and the fact he never really talks about them, or his familly in general, kind of makes me wonder how much they abused him. I know I'm being a armchair psycologist here but considering that GA is enters wish fulfillment and how much he identifies with the main female charachter I would hazard a guess that alot of GA is him copping with said abuse or trying to normalize it. Or at the very least him trying to take back contol from past situations.

Or it could be that Enter wished his sisters would do fetishy stuff with him and got mad that they didn't.

Enter, it might be a good idea to make a big statement about fetish fan-art and clarify what is and isn't allowed in your server, instead of being weirdly vague which could potentially result in more fetish fan-art being posted because you didn't set boundaries

You're assuming he removed the fetish art because he didn't like it, but if that were true, he would've done it much sooner and been much more aggressive (see "Do not ping me. Ever.") Instead, he said it "looks alright," and after 24 hours of being pestered about it, he removed the art and demanded everyone shut up. Like everything Enter does, this debate was never about the quality of the product. He just hates criticism, especially when it infects his most reliable hugbox.

Didn't Enter go after Dan Schneider (who's most infamous, for a lack of a better word, "quirk" is the occasional focus on children's feet) and the more questionable and sexual content in Adventures of Kid Danger?

Because he did, when he covered that show on Nick-O-Rama and on the standalone Atrocity review of it. He even said that "it feels like you're watching someone's bizarre fetishes that they're far too open about".

I know that Enter's sheer hypocrisy regarding what he hates in his reviews and what he loves in Growing Around is one of the main themes of this thread, but this is fucking ridiculous.

Well, he only removed it because other people thought it was creepy and bothered him about it, he saw no issue with the image himself, so I don't think he can even make a statement like that.

That's true, I guess I'm just :optimistic: that Enter might do something to prove he's not a degenerate

He'll only do enough to "prove it" when enough people get angry with him about it. That's how any improvement happens on his channel.

Fans harassing a SpongeBob writer on Twitter? No big deal. Ex-fans calling you out on it every single day? "Hey, calm down! I'm not doing that shit anymore. Sure, I still call anyone who made these cartoons or likes these cartoons the worst kind of human excrement, but at least I never use their names!"

Your book got terrible reviews in the first week? "Oh, they're just blind haters who have no idea what they're talking about." At least two of those reviews are from relatively popular critics who can prove they actually read the book? "Stop talking, guys. The book is non-canon. I'll prove it by renaming half the characters and never resolving the book's cliffhanger. No, let's not address or try to fix any of the actual problems with the book, because that would require effort to learn from my mistakes, and you know I hate effort."

Everyone complains that your editing is shit? Hire a competent editor. People stop complaining? Abandon your editor without a second thought because they're too expensive and/or hard to control. People start complaining again? Hire an editor who's much less competent, but much easier to control, and if people still complain about the editing, then now you have a reliable scapegoat.

Newfag here, finally finished skimming through this. I didn't expect a thread on Enter to be such a ride and even less for it to be 300+. Don't worry, I've been lurking in several threads unrelated to Enter and I like the discussion on this site. Feel free to slap me if I powerlevel about my favorite Nick Jr. shows or my scripts that are totally better to Enter's.

I'm surprised tvtropes hasn't been mentioned as much throughout this thread when discussing why his series doesn't work. Ever since I saw his links to Growing Around and references like "Bunny Eared-Lawyer" I saw many red flags. Many tropers think of their fanfics or stories as though they were grocery lists of items. Rather than writing according to the flow of their narratives or having a clear goal that they want to tell, it's easier to cobble together tropes like a jigsaw puzzle and think about how they can subvert them, avert them or what have you. I think Enter does this not only because of him mentioning tvtropes all the time but also because of him trying to play many tropes "right" individually. This might explain why his show is so formulaic/basic and somehow so atypically incoherent in premise at the same time: he's thinking in individual tropes and adding them to his shopping list rather than actually writing a story normally.

On a related note, most popular series on tvtropes are "trope overdosed" and often have "loads and loads of characters". The alleged potential for tropes is often only there not because of the work being particularly deep but because it's extremely popular and thus gets a lot more in-depth editing. It wouldn't surprise me if Enter conflated both aspects and thought "maybe if I write in a lot of tropes and add a shit ton of characters Rowling-style my work would be in-depth and good".

Also, I almost feel bad about him about this growing Discord drama. If it extends further he'll definitely never hear the end of it lol

This thing that doesn't exist yet has a TV tropes page, probably written by Enter

Write What You Know: The show can be seen as Mr. Enter's Take That! towards his (abusive) parents and the education system.

lol

lol

So, some interesting information to be had here - the page was NOT created by Enter, but by somebody going by "Cabbit Girl Emi" who goes so far as to put their full name as the first thing on their profile page.

Now, what was the name of the mystery girl discussed a few pages back that we weren't sure might have been Enter's potential sister or not?

Give me the deep lore on Blues Clues. Is it all just a book? Why was Corduroy prominently seen in the intro? Why is Steve so creepy?
Is Skidooing just astral projection? Why does no one acknowledge how Steve and Blue can just travel to what basically amounts to other dimensions at will? Why can't the creatures in the other dimensions Skidoo into Steve's and Blue's world?

Why have these questions plagued me for the better part of two decades?
