and that would make him a former fan, my issue is the terms were so broad that dick is of course correct because it edges out everyone except pre-existing enemies like Maddox, Dick isnt really big enough to have random joes concerned about the morality of actions turn against him to this degree

I love this stage of the e-celeb popularity cycle. The part where the churn of losing old fans is handled poorly and spun into everybody being a forever-enemy. It couldn't possibly be that there's a natural dropoff that's hidden by the usual increase in fans. Why would anybody stop being a fan? No, it MUST just be a few alogs.

It never has to go this way, but it often does. Sad.

By that standard any former fan of the show who then begins not liking Dick for whatever reason then becomes someone with beef and they become invalidated because they have a personal axe to grind and it becomes a way to dismiss anything they say or do.

That's being dishonest. Ben is more than JUST a former fan. As YOU pointed out to us there was drama involving his gf going on the show.

I think much of the problem, at least relating to Dick, is how much of a role sections of his community have in his content. Guys get mad when they don't get the same attention other fans do, or when they do get the attention and it eventually dries up. By all means Dick handles a lot of this shit very poorly, but a lot of guys want to use TDS as a launchpad for their own e-celeb careers, and when the golden ticket doesn't show up they get real fucking angry about it.
